Designed for film sets, small studios, small-scale video production teams and SOHO users, the compact TBS-h574TX Thunderbolt 4 all-flash NASbook elevates video production for optimum productivity. It packs high-speed I/O and Intel® Core™ performance required by video production, allowing creators using Mac or Windows to enjoy the smoothest experience in real-time video editing, large file transfer, video transcoding, and backup. The TBS-h574TX, as the bridge between pre-production and post-production, takes video projects and team collaboration to the next level. The TBS-h574TX runs the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system that ensures data integrity. You can also switch to the QTS operating system based on your needs.
Ultra-fast RAW file editing
With an E1.S to M.2 SSD adapter attached in each slot, you can flexibly install five E1.S or M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs for lightning-fast multimedia file editing.
Thunderbolt™ 4 for faster direct connections
Two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports allow directly connecting Mac®/PC workstations to the TBS-h574TX, delivering up to 20Gbps for 4K video editing.
2.5GbE and 10GbE as standard
2.5GbE and 10GbE networks accelerate large file transfer and allow for more connected devices/workstations by attaching a network switch.
Compared to large rackmount all-flash array storage, the TBS-h574TX all-flash NASbook features a compact, portable design with five SSD slots yet delivers extreme performance. It is the ideal choice to accelerate ongoing creative video projects from pre-production to post-production, and seamlessly works with USB DAS (TR-004) for file backup/archiving. The TBS-h574TX is always ready for your next project! An E1.S to M.2 SSD adapter is attached to each drive bay of the TBS-h574TX, providing great flexibility to choose between M.2 SSDs and E1.S SSDs on demand.
As a frontline video production team, there is the risk of project interruptions due to unexpected SSD failures in storage devices. The innovative TBS-h574TX makes M.2 SSDs become hot-swappable for easier drive replacement. Along with supporting automatic RAID replacement with spares (supported from QTS 5.1 / QuTS hero h5.1), if potential drive errors are detected, the system automatically moves data from the affected drive in a RAID group to a spare, before the data on the affected drive is completely corrupted. This reduces system downtime and data loss risks as it avoids RAID rebuilding.
Designed with an excellent cooling system, the TBS-h574TX is equipped with dual fans and supports SSD heatsinks (heatsinks sold separately) to effectively enhance heat dissipation during intensive workloads, allowing creators to confidently enjoy the ultimate performance of SSD.
The TBS-h574TX has two Thunderbolt™ 4 ports for high-speed data transfer (up to 20Gbps bandwidth). Mac® (including M1 and M2 chip models) or Windows® workstations can directly connect to the TBS-h574TX for fast and smooth real-time video editing, allowing for the transfer of a 1TB 4K video in just 11 minutes.

What is the max. size of SSD / the max. size for the ssd pool?
@QNAPUK
@QNAPUK 6 ай бұрын
The largest M.2 we currently support in that model is 7.68TB x 5, which after RAID 5 would give you approx. 30TB of useable storage

@@QNAPUK thank you! I brought the i5 system and 5 times the SSD M.2 4TB Kingston KC3000 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen 4.0. Is this a good choice?

Could you describe brief differences between TBS-h574TX and TVS-h874T, and please give preferences user between those, thanks.

TBS-h574TX is a much smaller unit, SSD only, great if you need to take it to shooting locations or anywhere else as it's so small. The TVS-h874T is a much larger unit, can take a mix of SSD's and HDD's, much better to be installed at a fixed location like your studio. Both are aimed toward content creators looking to do things like video editing with multiple editors.

interesting product, as an editor i see the need for this. However, do you have any guidance or data on the effectiveness of different RAID confirgurations specifically for SSDs? Because people are now using SSDs in NAS and DAS there is little info about longterm degradation from using them as working drives especially with large 4K video files. Does RAID 5 or 6 actually help in case multiple SSDs die simultaneously?

Hi Alex, the RAID mode doesn't matter a huge deal, obviously wear is spread out across more disks so 1TB of data going to a single SSD will cause more wear to that SSD than 1TB of data going to a RAID with 4 SSD's in it. We do also have something called QSAL that helps... more info here: QNAP SSD Antiwear Leveling (QSAL) is a patented QNAP technology that helps prevent SSDs in the same RAID group from failing at the same time. It works by adding a varying amount of over-provisioning to each SSD, which causes each disk to wear at a different rate.

So its competition is the flashstor 6 and 12 bay models?

Our unit would be significantly faster, the Celeron they use doesn't have enough PCIe lanes to address all the bays so there will be some bottlenecking. Also the Thunderbolt ports really give us a massive data pipe in/out of the unit for data transfer, as well as the 10GbE on top of that. But yes, not a dissimilar form factor :)

Blimey £2k unpopulated.. It should have much more ram for zfs file system I'd be wanting 64GB / 128GB Plus I'd want 10Gb as an SFP port. Maybe Qnap can sell a branded UPS or include a small battery for shutdown? Best of luck with sales.

Around £1,200 for the i3 and £1,400 for the i5 +VAT. As there are no overheads for things like SSD cache to be addressable or Data DeDuplication... should be plenty of RAM for high performance. Please also remember you can run QTS on this if you wish. We chose RJ45/10GBASE-T because a lot of video editors will go for this unit and a lot of them use a Mac, which has the matching port, allows you to connect more than just the 2 Thunderbolt users. I'll feedback the suggestion on a UPS.
