You acting out driving the trucks was hillarious. Sounds like 88M is a quick Ait course. My son was 35N Ait at Goodfellow AFB in Texas. His training was 27 weeks long. He said they had I think 2 to 3 different phases he went thru unlocking more freedom with each one. Once he was phase 2 he could has his phone anytime except during work hours. He was free to go off base for weekends. He was also pretty smart and saved 5k in the bank during his BCT and AIT time. Great video as I always enjoy your take on life.
@maryanne53677 жыл бұрын
Hi I actually have the same MOS and was wondering if your son had to learn to work with computers and if computer related work was the main focus. Also, how difficult were the AIT courses and the new material that was introduced.
@johntotten48727 жыл бұрын
He said he couldnt disclose a whole lot of info about the course due to the sensitive nature of it (Requiring a top secret clearance) But I am pretty sure he would use a computer during the job. He said it wasnt super hard but listen to the instructors and make sure you understand the content and you should do fine on the tests. You are allowed to fail 1 test during the course (Have to retake the failed test and pass it the next time or you get recycled). I wish you the best in it and wish I could share more but that is mainly all I know.

Thats entertaining. I was an 11B, 52D, 31U, and an 88, M88N and 88Z. After I retired I made my money with the skills I learned as an 88N. I only made $120k a year hear in the states, but overseas, I made about $180K. I guess some jobs have more OJT than others. She has the balls to know she probably will leave the wire and some people are scared by that.

Its really unlikely to get hit by IEDs now a days most conveys have a thing called mids on the front its sensors that can detect metal under ground . They are usually in the front and they spray water or whatever it is on the ground as a marker there is either a ied there or some kind of metal substance . The army is getting more technical with being able to solve those kind of issues . there are also other trucks that can dig the ieds / metal up and clear the path . 88M mos is important and coming from a grunt 88m mos is one of the few pog mos I actually have respect for because when on conveys the driving is super fucking slow and boring it literally takes 4 hours to go one mile because of the clearance we have to do . But if you really hate the 88M I suggest reclass you said something about taking the fast class so I already assume youre line scores were pretty low? I say just do the full 20 or however long you plan on doing it as a 88M and just stick through the suck because why take that risk on the fast class and end up failing the asvab and getting the good ole boot . Atleast you will still be in the army i dont think not one person hates the mos they picked at certain times lol

Currently in Ait at Ft Leonard Wood 46T! We are on our last truck before graduation and it's not bad. As of now (9-30-17) there are only 3 trucks you qualify on. 5ton ( troop transport), 915 (tractor trailer truck), and the LHS ( truck that picks up the flat bed) shipping off to South Korea when I graduate. Can't wait to get to my unit.
@edwardcottman7436 жыл бұрын
I was a 64 Charley Motor Transport Operator. I Graduated AIT from FT. Dix back in 1978. I can drive anything on wheels, 4, 18, tractor trailers, straight backing, etc. So let me say this to you, young lady-stop using so much profanity. You don't need to curse on your video's- "It takes away from what you do!" You have one of the most important jobs in the US Army, without you there is no Army....you dig?
@alonnaallen6 жыл бұрын
Edward Cottman to add on to your message, being an 88m is not just about driving trucks and not everyone in the military does it. Yes everyone drive Humvees and 5 tons but they are not qualified to drive the trucks in which deliver the supplies. You are not only driving the truck you are responsible for the load your delivering. I loved my time as an 88m and with three deployments I can tell you that other mos like infantry, who you deliver supplies to are thankful and happy to see you especially when delivering class one. They may not admit to it but everyone in the army knows no mos can operaterate without the other mos's, its all one big team especially on deployments.

First off great video and I appreciate you keeping it real about the dangers of the job and how it can be boring to some people! My main question is what are the odds of being deployed overseas? Along with that, what countries are you most likely to be deployed too, and for how long? If you don’t have straight up answers I understand that bc it can be unpredictable from what I’ve read and all. Great video and would really appreciate some feedback! Thanks again and keep up the good work!

my boyfriend is in ait right now and everything has been going really well. i text him every day at 4 when he wakes up and tell him to have a good day and i love him. i always make sure hes doing okay and i tell him to just let me know if hes gonna be busy and ill be fine with it bc i understand. but last week we barely texted and i was asking where he was and hes like "what time is my formation on weekends?" like a rhetorical question because i was texting around the time of his formation. usually he wants me to text him all the time and tell him about my day and stuff, but now i havent heard a single word from him since last friday. its been almost a week and its really weird. we've been together for awhile and planning to see each other soon, we werent arguing or anything like that. im not sure if i should be worried or mad or if hes ghosting me or what? it doesnt seem like something he would do, hes usually upfront with things. do you think theres a way he could just be super busy and not able to get on his phone?
