My son drives our Sept. 2013 model S to college now. Gets 218 miles full charge and of course, free supercharging. Only reason why we haven't gotten rid of it despite the dents and scratches the kid has caused. His younger brother gets it next. Will probably keep our Tesla until problem fixes get too expensive. But luckily, haven't had any problems in 5 years, which is the opposite of what I've experienced with gas cars.

I want to commend you Bjørn on your soothing driving videos with almost healing like music. Also I can confirm the seismic change in the EV charger landscape. I drove parts of your route yesterday, when going from Bodø to Bømlo. I did that several times in my Taycan in 2020-22, and was kinda annoyed about the lacking infrastructure, especially north of Trondheim. Sold the Taycan in 2022 after experiencing 7% loss in SOH over just 1,5yrs and 52000km. Then the rear motor shorted and left me stranded in the middle of the road atop the mountain between Gol and Fagernes. It’s was such a messy experience I had to get rid of the car. During our trip over the last two days, I commented to my family about the positive changes in amount and quality of charging stalls I saw, but they just said forget it, no more EVs for us if you want to have us coming along for the trip and not taking the plane😂

Battery degradation is high at first and tapers off for a good designed car (except leaf and hyundai/kia tech where they must have some bad engineering with their 30-50-60% or more battery degradation in several years). Usually settles at 10-15% at most.

@@roberts.wilson1848 loosing a substantial part of my fuel tank over such a short period of time wasn’t something I was ready to accept and still isn’t. Taycan had state of the art battery management and Porsche said not to worry about charging high SOC on hyperchargers, go low not single digit SOC or keeping it at home at 100% always ready to go, so you can imagine what a disappointment the car and experience was to me. Since then the tech director and f elbilforeningen in Norway has come out warning about fast charging at all and keeping the battery between 20-80% to maintain the best SOH and longevity of your car’s battery. That means you got 60% of SOC to play with at slow charging, which in turn means you’ve got a pretty expensive shiny toy to run around doing city errands with. For that you can get yourself a 10-15 year old petrol or diesel car for free and call it a day. No need for a premium costly EV doing that.

Degradation is normal. It would be at 9 % at 100k km, not more.

I ended up driving my 2021 model 3 LR for 3 weeks with no MOT (UK version of the car test) and only found out because I got a tyre puncture and the repair place told me it expired 3 weeks prior, was lucky to not get pulled over for it.

I ordered my ev in mid 2022... Back then some routes around me were still pretty poorly serviced... But since then many chargers appeared... Nowadays even if I'm going through smaller towns I expect to find a charger... The maps can't keep up you have to check several places and you just might find one... Never did I have to resort to begging for a common socket from a stranger

But Millenium Falcon is a legend:) I would buy it, but Norway is not in the EU and for Bulgaria there will be a serious price increase in duty and VAT. Well… These type of cars, ten year old Teslas, like yours sir, go for about 20 k-25k , here in Germany 🇩🇪 … depending on condition of the car itself, of course … Wich I’m thinking is a incredible price, for what your getting… however … since new tech comes in so fast and you can only charge it very slow… compare to cars as of 2024 … and the additional costs of repair and upkeep… You really have to know what you getting yourself into. And since Tesla is not shy about charging you a premium for ANYTHING … you have to realize that a new door motor alone could cost up to 2.000 Euros alone … FOR ONE ☝️ A MCU upgrade is a must, for example … ok … factor in a additional 1.200-1.500 Euros to install… and you get yourself a nice, comfortable limo.

337k km (234k miles)! This is REALLY high mileage for any car. The value is likely to be fairly low. Surely not 20 - 25k Euros. Even 15k might be ambitious. In the UK, on the largest database, there's no Tesla for sale over 175k miles (282k km).. There are only 40 of any type (out of 400,000) that are ten years old and with equivalent mileage - and the most expensive of those is £7.5k. (Things might be different in America where they don't seem to have the stringent safety testing we have in Europe.)

Door motor is nothing near 2000€. You get a complete door handle system for about 300€ so not sure what you meant with your 10 times figure.

@@contra_plano From what I can tell, Tesla in order to work in Portugal, offering public charging, needs to comply with rules from EGME, enter the complex Mobi.e network and create a software modification to communicate energy usage to the Portuguese entity.
