Sweet. I bought my first 22 pistol, back in 1966. I bought it mail order from Herter's, and it had to be shipped by Railway Express. Looked almost identical to the one you are shooting here. Loved that gun, but I traded it for a 9mm pocket pistol about 2 years later. I lived near Washington DC, and it was getting close to the summer of 68 riots, and I thought that I needed a little more stopping power. Never had to use it, but I was prepared.

Firearms and memories go hand in hand. My first gun was a browning SA-22 rifle. Bought it from a neighbor when I was 12 years old. He wanted $5 for it and I remember I had to mow my granddaddy yard twice and my neighbors yard twice to earn the $5 to buy the gun. Don't believe I could find that deal again. Shot a lot of tin cans and sparrows with that one I did. Thanks for sharing!

Had the same gun, but two years behind you! Loved it because it was my first .22 handgun, and had "cowboy" written all over it! Sadly, it jammed up on me and I gave it away. Even had the same Hunter holster as you! Those were better and magical times. Wish I could bring them back!

You are one lucky fellow to have a pawn shop in Nevada that’s reasonable. The ones here in SC along the Grand Strand would want $350. 00 for that gun. I found one in a pawnshop , no box they wanted $425.00 . You are lucky.

About a year ago, I had a fat Sidewinder I found on my back porch after my dogs went after it. I grabbed my 3.5 inch Heritage Rough Rider I usually keep loaded with Snakeshot .22 LR. Fire the first round at the snakes head and I forgot I had swapped put the cylinder with a .22 Magnum. Cleaned and loaded it when I got home. Sure enough, it about severed the head first shot when it hit right where the head meets the body. My ears were killing me for the next two days since I wasn't wearing ear pro. Just glad they didn't bleed.

It is very nice that you were able to get a revolver just like your first handgun. I got my first handgun in 1968. It is a S&W Model 37. Which is a aluminum frame .38special snubbie. I carried it for many, many years and still have it to this day. It will go to my grandson along with a truck load of my other guns.

My Dad had a little German pistol just like that, but in 22lr. He picked it up in some small shop in Virginia. Fun little gun. One of my older brothers has it now. I ended up buying a Ruger Wrangler because it reminded me of that gun. I think everyone should own a 22 revolver at some point. Even if they have a semi auto 22 and multiple 22 rifles. There's just something about a 22 revolver that makes a day of plinking more laid back and enjoyable.

Awesome find! My Dad had one of those German .22 revolvers I learned to shoot pistols with. He took it with him when he went on a job in Paraguay and wound up giving it his bush pilot when he left, rather than deal with the paperwork bringing it back into the US would entail. I still remember what it looked like, with the plastic stag grips. I'm thinking I need to get the old Ruger 3-screw Single Six .22 Mag from the safe and take it with me next time I go to the "range". Never grouped it on paper - I wonder if it spits tumbling bullets, too?

I used to have one of those as well ... can't remember the buffalo on the grip, but made in germany, and the black plastic grip. I sold it along the way, as I have done with a lot of guns I have owned, (and kicked myself in the rear for getting rid of most of them.) .... It is however similar to the heritage .22lr I picked up new at my local gun store in Phoenix, a couple years back for Black Friday for $99. Which shoots similarly as well .... (though now I would really have to hate any gun to sell it off.)

Memories, everybody remembers their first. Mine was a Pietta .36 Navy mail-ordered about 1970 when I was (not nearly 18 yet). I learned so much shooting that and had many great times with it. Learned to cast my own bullets, make my own holster. Times are so much different now. Never once did I think that a kid might bring a firearm into school even though every kid knew where their Dad's duck gun was kept.

I believe most all of us survived our gun bloopers of our youth. Mine was with a Ruger Bearcat and and friends car. FYI if you pull the trigger hard enough while an Old Model Bearcat is on the safety notch, the hammer even falling that short distance will discharge the weapon (if it’s loaded and it was). What did I learn, NEVER mess with your pistol while it’s in the holster, only when it’s pointed in the “intended” direction and your ready to fire.

Had one of the Heritage .22LR/.22WRM and loved that gun. It was pretty accurate wirh .22LR being able to hit eggs size targets at about 50ft, or better than me, if i could hold it steady. Never got to try the .22WRM and always wondwred about the power difference. One day hope to get a .45LC revolver and a lever action same caliber. Bless ❤️ you and keep on shooting.

Hey Mixup98! Another great video. If I'd known the issue with Rossi 62's shooting high from the factory, I would not have bought one. It was a Herculean effort to purchase a machineable Pattridge front sight from Skinners Sights (thanx again, Skinners) and then wait another 2 months for the machining to be done. Worst of all, the stock front blade sight is a casting, so welding more bead on top is a sketchy idea at best. I've had success with this on a Stey M1895 Stutzen front sight blade, but it's forged steel-John in Texas

You and your stories are great fun and your skills with a handgun are fantastic. Reminds me of my adventures with my Pop in many ways. My Pop traded into and out of several of those German made .22 single actions back in the 70s. They were fun and useful little revolvers. One in particular that I remember not lasting long in our collection though produced and ear ringing high pitched ping every time it was fired. It definitely was not a revolver to shoot a rabbit with for camp stew without your ears plugged tightly.

I inherited such a pistol from my wifes aunts boyfriend. It looks identical but for a lot of surface rust making the manufacturer virtually unreadable although it is a far longer German name then EIG. It is 22lr and labeled Model 21 Stamped in the bottom of the backstrap is Alamo Leather Goods San Antonio TX, likely the importer. Wildly inaccurate so it rests comfortably in my safe. I'd also inherited a P 38 with Nazi markings which I sold way too cheap in a time of needing money but that was 25 years ago..

I agree, you got a fair deal for your $90. And you can’t put a price on memories. I’ll go you one cheaper: a Hy-Hunter .22 mag with steel lined zamak barrel and steel sleeved zamak cylinder.😄 But it went bang. When I turned 21 in 1975, I’d landed a decent job, and couldn’t wait to buy “the original” .357 magnum. I still have that 8-3/8” Model 27-2. Now, I have Dad’s K-38 and Mom’s 1907 Savage, but they are long gone. Hold onto those memories.

I see it's a two screw and it sounds like it has the 4 clicks when cocked. I take it, it doesn't have a transfer bar. Sounds like a Colt when cocked. Nice find! and nice video.

You're right, it does have four clicks and it doesn't have a transfer bar, meaning it should be carried with an empty chamber under the hammer 👍😎

It pays to check out PAWN SHOPS especially if they are off the beaten path, out in the BOONIES.😉👍😁 I picked up a old Colt Detective Special that had been reblued and buffed TOO MUCH, could have had HEAVY PITTING. IT STILL FUNCTIONED and SHOT FINE for $100+tax but it was about 15 or more years ago.😁

We don`t have pawn shops where I live. Just a couple for jewelry. That`s a fun gun.

Thanks for a great video! What memories! My first handgun was a Ruger single-six stainless 5.5" .22/ .22 mag. convertible. Although that gun is long gone, I now have the privilege of owning a 1986 vintage 5.5" single-six in .32 H&R magnum that will be passed down to my son. God Bless.

Nice little find. Eine Handfeuerwaffe, die aus Deutschland kommt. 9:50 As someone from the world of baseball once put it: It ain't braggin' if you can do it." Facts are facts, right? Fun outing, as usual. I really like it that you use reactive targets. It's extra fun when stuff jumps around. I have a shooting game in mind that I might develop some day that tests the shooter's skill with reactive targets - not that there aren't already a bunch of those. Cheers.

Sign me up if you do develop that shooting game, especially if I can throw a can of shaving cream and shoot it in the air 😁
