When I started my law enforcement career I was desperate for a back up gun. At that time the only gun I could afford was a Jennings R22. It was my back up for about a year. It always went bang when I pulled the trigger and was very accurate. After 34 years I still have it. And it still works. Love the pawn shop finds videos, keep them coming!

I had 2 of these, both were older, I actually purchased the 2 from a local gun shop, they were about $25 a piece, both had feed issues, the way the feed ramp and barrel are mounted together there was a rough lip between them, I ground and polished the feed ramp connection and made them nice and smooth, fed like a dream on both afterwards, shot very well and dependable. I’ve since parted with them both, wish I would have kept one for my collection..

This. Old or never broken in the feed ramps are unreliable trash you have to manually check. There's probably a reason Lorcin got sued out of existence.

Love the great firearm culture that you Americans have. We do really need it here in Italy, despite Italy invented Beretta and many other brands about guns. I legally and proudly have a Marlin mod.60 in .22LR caliber from North Haven, U.S.A and I do really love this tiny caliber, very funny at the range! An Affectionate greeting the U.S.A awesome country! 😀❤

My Beretta shotgun and CX4 Storm were both made in Italy and they are some of my favorite firearms. My very first rifle that I ever owned was a Marlin Model 60 that I received for Christmas around 1971. I shot that .22 rifle until it just couldn't shoot anymore. Bought a backup trigger spring, recoil spring, firing pin spring, another spring, 3 firing pins, a different color slide, different grips, screws, safety switch, and two new magazines. All these parts cost as much as the gun. But, I wanted to be able to keep this thing operational forever. Who knows, in 10-15 years these parts may not even exist anymore. You are totally correct.

Pawn shops are run by smart and knowledgeable people, and they rarely loan money on bad guns that they might be stuck with. They tend to have surprisingly good stock and may have room to lower prices if you are polite, and do not automatically assume that they are cheaters. Really good deals are available: almost everyone who pawns a gun really does intend to get it back because they LIKE IT, but have bad luck.........................elsullo

I can’t say I have a ton of pawn shop experience but I have bought a few. Mostly it depends on what they paid for it to determine how much they can wheel and deal. Most of the ones I have dealt with are not gunsmiths so at best they might wipe them off before they go in the case and at worst they just go in the case warts and all so be aware.

I had a Sterling 22 auto around 40 years ago. I liked the look of it but it would fire twice with one trigger pull. I traded it in on a Ruger Mk2 that I still use today. Small pocket handguns are nice to have so I have a North American arms mini revolver for that. It's nice to see a father and son doing things together. Great video.

I have never had a bad gun, but I have had a few with magazine problems. Usually as long as your spring, fire pin, and extractor are present and functioning somewhat properly, the gun will run. I always suspect the mag first when I have any issues. Esp with 22 ell ar.

Great video, thanks, Mixup! The only "tiny" 22LR pistol I have (and enjoy!) is a Llama XV , actually a 1911 clone in miniature. After replacing a soft firing pin with one I fabricated myself, the little pistol has been a delight to shoot, since I bought her back in 1977. Field strips just like a 1911 and has all the familiar features. Wishing you a Happy New Year!!

My very first 1911 .45 pistol was a full size Llama pistol and I believe I paid about $125 brand new for it. That was way back in 1985-86. Wish I still had it. Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!

My 1st gun was a Bryco/Jennings 9mm. It was used and cheap and it was high capacity during the assault weapons ban. I had it less than 10 years, and it worked....til it didn't. The frame on it broke and I gave up on it. It did it's job. And like any other addiction, it was the first of many.

Please keep sharing your Pawn Shop Finds, they motivate me to keep trying the overpriced pawn shops in my area. If I counted correctly Ed tied you hitting the steel plate overall, clearly he knows when a tie is actually a win 😮. Y'all need to get that sassy gal out to shoot with you 😊.

Ed hates losing to me because he knows he will be walking home if he does, and it's a long walk 😁 Unfortunately that sassy gal (Jessie) works 7 days a week and it's hard for her to find time to join us. Hopefully we will get her in a few future videos.

I'd definitely say it's possible. I had one of their 380 acp's and if it was kept clean and well lubed it ran pretty good for a 100$ ghetto gun lol

Sorry did some shooting today. Years ago I bought a raven arms 25 off a guy for like $20. Had a broken firing pin. I just fixed it recently with a new stainless firing pin. The gun is laughably simple but what can I say it functions well. I cleaned her up and put back in dad’s safe with a box of shells. I am happy to own it.

The man, the myth, the legend (and son) once again separating the wheat from the chaff. Looks like the Jennings works with CCI ammo. Good to know if you're going to keep it. Good shooting, as usual. Cheers.

Happy New Year to you all! I was watching the video and watching the Views and Comments scrolling up while I watched. Good comparisons of those three "Ring of Fire" pistols that the California politicians put out of business. I enjoy these Pawn Shop finds and you and Son shooting them. If the guns have any potential, the two of you can wring it out of them. The sights might be off at distance, but for what they are, this Jennings worked!

Yep, and especially luv the pawn guns that are already 'broke-in', where basically the previous owners have already made up for the cheap construction and 'rough edges', by 'polishing' the feed ramp, slide, etc.... simply thru heavy _use._

I have one of those Jennings j22 !!! I bought it back in 1989 for the first wife to plink with she hated it lol. I've had a hard time shooting the thing because my big hands ,so I gave it to my Dad witch he also had big hands and had a hard time shooting it. After his passing i got his gun collection and low an behold it was in with them so it came back. He lost one of the mags that came with it so I had to buy one from eBay to replace it. My 10 year old grandson loves shooting it.

They are some of my favorite plinkers, you can make them "good enough for the range" reliable with a little work. There was a time when I was running close to a brick per week through one.

I bought two of those j22's around 1990. Paid $50.00 apiece back then. Mine have the wooden grip inserts. I still have one in the safe. They also made a j25 version and I wish I had bought on of those also. Your video has inspired me to get mine out the safe and go put a few rounds thru it.
