Thanks for the video, what I did notice is that you didn't take the negative cable off the battery and that might be why you didn't have the security light on

I just did a search for fan clutch clicking. Wow! What a mess. If it were to happen to me, I'd just pull the fan clutch relay, and see how it ran without the relay. I like the old style fan clutches that have the thermostat in front.

Pcmofnc does pcm tuning also. Awesome company. PCM of NC. They sell a lot of stuff for our rigs. Electric fan works great. I paid 178.00 and they tuned one for a CIA no cats changed the shift points and the secondary air pump and deleted other things.

I bought my 2004 in 2008. The old owner did some stupid stuff with the computer. He tried to make the car faster and had it shifting high rpm at light throttle. I went to pull a part and bought another computer for $35. My tb would not start. I used HP Tuner to turn the vat off. It will start and run now. I also used HP to raise the top speed to 120 mph.

Module…the switches are modules now and supposedly they have to be programmed…however, I’ve replaced things that “needed programmed” and it worked just fine without any programming…I noticed on my 05 that I don’t have a chipped key…and almost all the options in my pcm are turned off…lol…which means if I fix these updating data etc I’ll probably get locked out of my trailblazer cuz it didn’t come with the chipped key …crap

Not seeing it in other comments, idle on our two is 700 RPM. 250K miles on the 2004, 115K on the other 2004. Edit, switches do not need to be programmed.

How'd this work out for you? I have had very similar issues with my 2002. Replaced PCM from HWY 71, along with pretty much every other part on the car. It ran great for a bit, but now won't idle up any. Thanks for posting!

17:50 it wont come back to them... there are waaaaay too many car dumb people out there that NEED to go top the dealer... its the first place they go and usually take the hit cuz they need their car done quick and have no inclination to fix it themselves. even a switch panel on the door that takes 20 min and socket/screwdriver to do... even that makes peoples head explode. changing this pcm is easier that changing the door switches... but people would rather attempt to teach a dog to drive than do either the switches or pcm... people only barely know when to change their oil(or what kind their car takes) and neglect all other fluids until their shits broken...thats why dealerships will never "get whats comin to them"

Can I get the information on pcm where you got it from. I’m experimenting similar issues with my 2002. Mine starts acting up in hot weather.
I ran into a problem with the junkyard PCM it wasn’t programmed to my vin number and was flagged during a State inspection

Dude. Did you try to just factory reset the old PCM?

Exactly that worked just fine for me
@aaronladuke9724Ай бұрын
@tonygrecco6476 how?
@tonygrecco6476Ай бұрын
@@aaronladuke9724 disconnect the battery cables. Cover the battery post so the cables don't touch the post. Connect the positive and negative cable's together, use a jumper wire with alligator clips, what ever just make sure the 2 cables are connected. Be damn sure those cables don't touch the battery post while connected together. Go in the car put the key in and turn the key on, turn on your headlights. Let it all set for 5 to 10 minutes. What this dose is release all the energy in the capacitors Thus resetting the PCM or the computer in the car. After that time reverse what you did and get things back to normal. Start you vehicle and let run for 5 mins. The vehicle computer is relearning everything according to factory settings. Now after the car has Idle take the vehicle for a spin. Don't hot rod, fast starts and stops. Again the vehicle computer is learning how the transmission is supposed to operate according to factory settings. After you have done all that get a code reader and get the trouble codes the computer finds. It's EASY!!!

Auto service where all the money is made. I got a buddy that’s a mechanic. He does well. He’s not even one of the high up people if you wanna make some good money and you’re young go to school to work on expensive things like race, cars or BMW and vehicles. Or learn how to be an airplane mechanic they make even more money.

Idk why the dealers refuse to do updates…they should have to by law considering how much it effects on the engine having outdated data on the pcm…I was gonna buy a used one simply because they program it to the vin and update everything before they send it out…

@@PHL_Brownstone I wonder what would happen if you disconnect the fan clutch relay. I can't even tell the difference with my fan clutch if the relay is plugged in or not; the fan clutch runs the same. I don't have any ticking problems, but found it interesting that I see no difference with the relay in or out. But maybe removing the relay will stop your fan clutch from ticking.

Speaking of "programmed" I'm sure some of the dealers are programmed to convince you that your old one is junk and time for a new vehicle.
