COTA in two weeks! I will be riding with Aprilia Racers Day at Circuit of the Americas on 17 November, and of course I will be bringing the big girl for it; those long straights need some S1000XR power. 💪

I have never seen a race track from near. But "at home" in the swiss alps i've made the experience, that even my little 790 Duke is able to beat most bikers with way more power. It's rider skills that count. Well done.

@@vtwin1979 Nonsense, read Jeremy McWilliams comments on how he and KTM developed the 890R he mentions that on some tracks the 890R was faster on laps than the 1290R...I have an SDR and it's all engine but corner speed is a weak spot it lacks some feel where the 890R shines, on a twisting circuit with short straights the 890R would leave the Superduke trailing.
@vtwin19794 жыл бұрын
@@rushy67rr97 Comes down to the rider more then the bike. He was passing those bikes very easy which suggests to me they were no where near his skill level. You cant compare youtube bike riders with anyone or bikes unless you can say they have the same abilities. Its just a track day. Put Rossi on any bike and see if the 890 can catch him in a corner. Comes down to skill of the rider more than the bike. McWilliams was commenting as a profesional rider. Not a weekend warrior.

1 thing I do like in the American bike scene is that when people buy new bikes, they actually use them, even on track. In the UK, when people buy these brand new bikes, they get babied for a few months (going out once or twice, going to a bike meet, kept basically stock) then part exchanged for a newer one and the same thing happens. It's like people who have the money don't want to spend it on the bike so they'll call it an "investment" to hide the fact they're shitty riders

I'm from France. I bought my 890 duke r in juin, i just made the 1000 kms of "rodage" and then 6 tracks days without any mind trouble :D My insurance covers me even on track as long as it is a non competition track day. So, i've always rode my new bike even on track.

I had the 790 Duke -18 and if i tried to start the bike immediately after turning the ignition On it sometimes just chugged and wouldn't start. I usually always wait for a couple of seconds before trying to start the engine, you can hear a low beeping sound that ends with a click, after the click i started and i never had any starting issues. Maybe it's hard to hear on the track but if i remember correctly some lights on the display will turn off at the same time as the click(?). Just guessing but maybe the ECU needs to load properly and fuel is being injected?
