This evening we say goodbye to the Kubota KX-080 Excavator, But before it leaves I need to fix up the borrow pit at the Renewable Resources Processing Center. I used the excavator to shape the slope and clean up.

Good morning all. Still chilly and damp here. Sharpening chains and catching up on things at the Stihl store today. Take a moment today and pray for all those souls who lost their life are those still suffering as a result of the unprovoked attack on our country 19 years ago. Have a day.

Mike, you sir are a much better operator than you give yourself credit for. I love watching you operate your equipment. Doing so gave me the confidence to do some road building on my farm. Though I only had my Kubota L4701 HST and a box blade I was able to cut and level a sloping, butt puckering" hillside into a little over a quarter mile of traversable road. Thank you for your time and efforts. AND, the rest of your family as well! Have a day!

Regarding your question that addresses the upcoming winter, my thoughts are a much colder and snowier winter than usual. According to the weather experts, the jet stream is forecasted to drop lower in North America. Typically that brings more cold and precipitation. One sign that the fall season is fast approaching is the leaves are beginning to turn in Northern Vermont and Northern New York.

Same thing down here in NC .we are still getting hot and humid days from the tropics pushing up out of the Caribbean Islands and yes im sick of it and hoping for some nice 70's temps and good weather. But hurricane season is in full force in the south Atlantic so I guess it will keep pushing humidity and warm weather up to us. Probably going to go from summer to very cold winter Temps like you said. Better then the terrible fires and dryness on the west coast. I believe the good lord is trying to tell the liberals something. But they don't no any better.

Look at the amounts of fruits and nuts on the local trees. Heavy with acorns and apples expect heavy winter. Also look at your wholly caterpillars the winter will be heavy, where it's black on the body of the caterpillar and mild where its brown. I haven't spotted a wholly caterpillar yet here in Michigan, That is how I guesstimate the coming winter weather.

In Western North Dakota we have a fruit tree here, more of a thorny bush called The Bullberry, or Buffaloberry. Very tart until it freezes. The foliage and the wildlife work together to spread their seeds. During sharptail Grouse season these brush patches are where you will find them. If it's going to be a bad winter with a lot of snow the bushes will be full of berries high on the tree. If it's going to be a mild winter there'll be fewer berries on the top and more on the lower branches.

True...but at the rental yard they are super geared up for that chore. They have pressure washers, a cleanup mud area...etc. it's not a problem whatsoever if a machine is returned dirty... unless it's in the rental agreement. Your paying to USE their equipment... but, they may give you a discount and better service in the future if you save them that work. Just hosing off the mud from the cab and any excess that could fall off the machine during transportation should be fine.
@billmorris2613
@billmorris2613 4 жыл бұрын
WAVETUBE84 If I remember right there was no charge for the machine. I would wash it, grease it, and fill the tanks and fluids. They have a pressure washer. But one of those fixed nozzles that just has a hard stream about 1/8 of an inch on a water hose does a good job of washing the mud and dirt off. Then a good brush washing with soap and rinse off with the pressure washer. It was a brand new machine when it was delivered to them. It would be a good jester to return it ready to go to the next coustomer.

Hey Mike, I think winter in the northeast will be a snowy one, I’ve always noticed that Mother Nature balances out the droughts...not always but a good percentage! Plus I just bought a couple sleds, getting back in it after being away a few years. Tell Hunter Hey for New Hampshire! Keep up the good work!!

It's easy to understand why you will miss the excavator, it's definitely super handy to have on hand.

Machine full of fuel is sometimes better than a plan, and lo and behold, look what you did. Looks great and gained you a lot of space and that is important, at least to me.

Put weed barrier fabric down and line the slope with 6” riprap. The riprap works great for erosion control, looks nice and you won’t have to mow it

Put some kind of ground cover and slope it. Never to worry about cutting grass in that area again.

I believe that this winter is going to be a deep freeze and tall snow. This weather is topsy/ turvey. Break out the winter gear and lube up the snow machines!

Did Mike Morgan say, "I don't have a plan"? That turned out nice. A little grass seed and it'll look great.

A Batwing brush hog, could probably mow most of that from the top and the bottom. I haven't used , or shopped for one of them in a long time. I wonder if they make one where you can shut the two side gear-boxes off and just use the center one for trails?

The squirrels in CT have been taking acorns out of the trees! I predict a serious snow this winter (thinking I may have made a mistake selling the snowblower for my BX...) I'll miss watching you work that excavator!

Still hot in Georgia. You use that excavator like it is and extention of your arms and hands. That new spot would be great for the splitter.

Great video AGAIN! I enjoy the intermittent fast forward to see a large amount of work done in a shorter time. But I REALLY enjoyed your stories a LOT❣️ Would you let us wave goodbye to the excavator as it leaves- please. Marcus from Chesapeake VA.

Pray for Oregon, Washington, and California. Private and public woodlands are going up in fire, smoke and ash. Whole communities and neighborhoods are burning. We’re in trouble.
