And dad, i will not disappoint you..Champions ain't born, they're made. And you have teached me everything i need to know to get past all challenges and obstacles life may throw at me... I post this video to my FB every year at father's day. It is one of the most genuine, silky , smooth and warm father/son songs I've ever heard. I think this is my 5th or 6th year, maybe more. It reminds me of what I think my Dad would say to me if he was still alive…but embraced from a daughter's perspective.

Hey there all... still a very good and great song! Two months ago my 25 year old son gave me (as a birthdaypresent) the task to do this song together with him. Last week we both started it in singinglessons at our local singingschool here in our small town called Wormer (the Netherlands) The way he is singing it (without any singinglessons) gives me goosebumps. I have to learn it from scratch...

I've been listening to and singing along with this song for ages. My dad died in 2004 when i was six years old. the message of gratitude and appreciation between father and son that this song makes me feel helped me immensely to know and truly feel what my father would've wanted to be for me and what I would've liked to be for him. It's made me feel like dad was there for me, in spirit, loving me and wishing me the world.

My dad, my sisters and me lost my mother (68) June 2015.... This was a real hard blow, she was the sugar in the family and bonding everybody... This song tho, made me reconnect with my father, I sent it to him (yesterday) and he was mind blown and flabbergasted... I never really told him how I felt and well we just lived. Until I sent him this song. He was really in tears about the fact that I thought of him in that way. I hope it will bring us closer together. Thank you Alain and Dane Clake for making this song, it is to me really 1 of the bests songs ever and deserves his spot right there with Imagine and songs like that.

lyrics: Oh papa sit down, and hear my song Oh and if you feel like it then please sing along No nothing that I wanna say, I haven't said before But to use your words, you can never be to sure See, even though I don't always show, I'm glad that you're along Said I'm glad that your're around Oh sonny, so strange, to hear and see That someone so different is, a soul like me You may have gone right, where I would have gone left But son, that's alright, I will always have your back See even though, I don't always show I'm proud of you, my son Old days, and all of the new wanting to be like you Every time I look at you (oh yeah) I see myself I'm so proud of you For you help make me what I am A better man I'm just so proud of you Oh dad, your views in life, tell me how they came to be Well see, I didn't know my father like the way that you know me Dane: son, life is just too short, for us to never be in touch That's why I want to tell you that I love you very much Oh even though, I don't always show You know Oh and I want you to know that Every time I look at you (oh yeah) I see myself I'm so proud of you For you help make me what I am A better man I'm just so proud of you I'm here and I'll be if I can A father and a friend Every time I look at you Every time I look at you (what you see?) I see myself (oh yeah) And I'm so proud of you For you help make me what I am Son and a friend I'm just so proud of you You know that one day too I'll be walking in your shoes Yeah and I know that you'll do fine 'Cause you're a son of mine Oh hey papa tell me what you've learned So that I don't get my fingers burned Son you'll see that as you go You'll make mistakes of your own But that's okay man See you live and you learn You live and you learn
