I really liked mine a lot (it was one of the ones with only 2 shoulder buttons) but I will say the shoulder buttons aren't the greatest--mine broke so that it was very loose, it's hard to describe but it moved around in a way it shouldn't and it finally broke mid-match a week ago, the right shoulder button no longer works consistently. Still, it's cheap enough and lasted long enough I'm not mad about it, and I legit love the DPad and button layout. I'm probably gonna buy another.

I'm honestly getting demotivated from playing FGs because of the continuous trial and error with pads. Just can't seem to find one that ticks all boxes. The biggest problem is things like the d-pad (which is my biggest challenge) are particularly subjective, so you have to buy pads before you know whether you'll like them. Anyway, just a pointless little rant from me, sorry! But Rush, as usual, I appreciate what you do bro. Hopefully our endless quest of finding the right controller ends one day 😅
@RushG9 ай бұрын
I'm in a very similar situation, I love all of the recent pads in some ways but there is something "up" with each one of them making me not feel 100% confident in them I'm actually back on the old Hori (switch version) at the moment as the controller feels good and has a good button layout. The dpad isn't the best but overall / at the moment I feel most comfortable on this pad
@musicJRF6 ай бұрын
Have you tried the Hori Fighting Commander? I tried the Switch version first. It's great, but the shape makes it a little uncomfortable to hold for a long period of playing. The Xbox/PS versions of the Commander are much more comfortable, and I was able to get used to the D-Pads to the point to be able to do Wavedashes/Electrics in Tekken 8 on it. I'm a long time Fightstick player who just transitioned to Pad last year.

Does anyone know if this new M30 still has turbo functionality that can be mapped, on the fly, without using an app, and for each button? Can you map keyboard keys to the buttons using the app? Or combinations of two keyboard keys to a single button on the controller? This is useful for saving and loading states when practicing games on a controller without having to use the keyboard.

I bought the pad and I'm just waiting for it to arrive, but I'm afraid I won't get used to it, because from the videos and images, it seems to be very small, and my hands are a little big. What are your impressions about the size and comfort when playing?
@RushG9 ай бұрын
You will notice it feeling small, it's not ideal but it's also not a major issue IMO. I've been able to adjust already and it feels okay. Call it a 7.7/10 for comfort 😅

How is the comfort 6 months later? I have the wireless Saturn version and the dpad hand aches after a while. Reminds me of playing on a snes pad. Cramped for long fingers.
@RushG2 ай бұрын
Imo whilst the dpad and button mappings on this pad are amazing, for bigger hands this pad is not comfortable. It's small in size and it's thin so it's difficult to maintain a good grip. Not a pad I used frequently anymore. The smallest size I can do is the Betop C3. Sega Saturn shaped controllers are also too small for me at least in terms of comfort
@AustenValentine2 ай бұрын
@@RushG Ok so all of these 8bitdo 6-buttons are uncomfortably small. I've already switched to a stock Series X controller in the meantime. It's a decent size and the dpad is amazingly clicky and precise. I just wish someone made a 6-button version with the same materials and construction. I'll see how it goes, but I'll keep the Betop in mind. With your feedback, it's been recommended enough now in terms of price and comfort that it might be worth acquiring.

@RushG2 ай бұрын
@@Krazyampotiks the dpad on the 8bitdo becomes very "loose" the more you use it. The Betop is better in this area IMO, the dpad will become a little loose over time but it will last longer in that regard. @RushG oh and i forgot to ask. since you own those two for a lot of months now, how are the conditions of them now? Should i still go for betop?
@RushG2 ай бұрын
Condition of both is good. The m30 I kept getting accident jumps due to how sensitive the inputs are on the dpad (seems to have got more sensitive as time goes on). The Betop still solid though, even when the dpad bad loosened up it was still great. The shape of the Betop imo, it's much better. Just a shame that all buttons can't be mapped to on the Betop

Question: Do you know if this unofficially works with Android? The official specs don't list it; but, Android usually plays nice with wired controllers. It'd be cool to use with emulators and Xbox Cloud. I usually play emulators on a tablet propped up on a desk, so being wired doesn't matter. I could probably drill a hole through a phone clip where the USB port is situated and connect it to my phone on the go with a short C to C cable I have. It'd be small and convenient. I'm rambling, lol. Sorry.
@RushG9 ай бұрын
Just so I understand, you're connecting the controller to the android device via the USB port? I have a Google Pixel 6a so I can attempt to connect the pad to it, USB C to USB C, is this what you're trying to achieve?

@mattdavis96019 ай бұрын
@@RushG - Thank you so much for testing this. You've saved me some combination of $35 US and a bit of aggravation. I don't know of any games with full controller remapping that aren't paid premium apps. I got disappointed with the gacha of so many freemium games and decided to pretty much stick to emulators for most things, streaming - RIP Stadia and hello Xbox GamePass, and certain paid Play Store games. PPSSPP is by far the easiest emulator to set up and it's completely free with no ads. The PSP was a 4 face button system with two triggers and Start + Select; but, PPSSPP allows you to map emulation actions (like Fast Forward and the emulator's Settings menu) as well as minor buttons from the PSP to any unused buttons on your controller, so it's a great way to test controllers. As far as Play Store games that can make use of every button your controller has; "Grid: Autosport" fits the bill, but it's $10 US and takes forever to install. I couldn't ask you to do that. I'm drawing a blank on free games that used more than a handful of controller buttons.

Check out the Hori Fighting Commander OCTA. It's got 10 buttons as well, a circle D pad, as well as an analog stick. And like I said on the other video, it has software that lets you set each directional input's sensitivity on its own rather than having to have them all set to the same level, and the software also lets you map every button on it. Hell, one time I mapped the directons to the shoulder buttons to a weird hitbox fightpad hybrid. I am not exaggerating about how aweseme it is to set each directions sensitivity. Being able to fine tune each direction is something I think all future ifight pads should have. I no longer accidentally jump when trying to dash because I set my up-left and up-right to lower sensitivity than left and right. I have reduced the amount of accidnetal dps when trying to hadoken and hadoken when trying to dp by increading the down-left and down-right sensitivity. And I don't struggle as much when facintg left because I made the all the directions on the left a bit more sensitive than the ones on the right. It takes a bit to fine tune it to your liking, but it's worth the effort.
