One thing I've noticed more recently (and I need to be wary of this), these cheaper brands not every pad feels the same. I had another 8bitso M30 and the second one I had the dpad felt slightly different (more loose and inaccurate). I can bet if I got another retrobit Saturn pad it may feel worse. I'll keep this in mind for future reviews. I appreciate the feedback

On punish counter can so link c.mp into sweep as a confirm. Coming from 3s ken, so confirming is pretty natural to me but 6 feels so different, i still struggle. Have to get used to it

I'm pretty sure sweep is 8 frame start up meaning CR MP on punish counter is plus 8, I'm pretty sure it's not plus 8 on punish counter, more like +7 meaning this link will only work if the CR MP is punish counter and meaty. I'll check it to be sure

@@TheBaioken good point, it would need to be a drive rushed and meaty CR MP for it to work (this was what I meant) So I wonder if you got a drive rushed meaty and they got counter hit because they woke up buttons, that should make the CR MP +6 on top of standard plus frames. In this scenario it wouldn't need to be more meaty for the link into sweep

Not sure I understand, what is the exact sequence you are trying to do Raw drive rush Stand MP, CR HP into what?

@RushG I figured out that it was sub optimal anyways, what I was trying to do was ST MP into CR HP into something like 2K -> LK -> CR MP and then like a medium jinrai into heavy follow up into lvl 3 or something after a drive rush/drive cancel instead of something like just CR HP run stop, CR LP/CR MP (depending on what you wanna convert into) but again, sub optimal and much more difficult, if it even works that is. so my bad lol. (I hope this makes a lil bit more sense than the last comment did)

No not really after one now, a lot of these old pads are quite dated and I don't think they are optimal for SF6. I've also had many bad experiences with second hand controllers. I'm waiting on the new Hori pad to come out, got high hopes for it. I appreciate the offer still, thanks!

@@mranz5191 Hori Fighting Commander controller. They no longer make this pad, it was replaced worth the Hori Octa which is not the best

@@stoiccrane4259 they're part of hia bread and butter. MP > HP > run tatsu for corner carry, run Dragonlash for meter less side swap I think I include ways to go into this for some combos in this video

@@RushG Thanks for the guide. I've been winning off MP > HP + Run straight into Plat 4 but I definitely need some new tech and your video has some interesting options. I never use his OD Jinrai or regular Tatsu from LP so it should be fun to add them.

I found your channel from the hori pad videos. I have the same feelings on 6 but I switched to a regular PS4 pad and found it to be better but the game in general is just boring.

I've grown up using a 6 button controller with a particular layout. I'm awful at SF on modern OEM controllers. Also when I tried hitbox, it feels so difficult 😭

Thanks man. It's all just practice over time. The more you train execution and learn about the game the more natural it becomes Don't fear the more difficult stuff, that's the stuff that will make you excel. Little bits over time add up

I wish hori makes a new fighting commander with a circular dpad It's really good even with the cross dpad, but making it circular would make it the best fightpad bar none I can't understand why they discontinued the best pad they created, nobody seems to like octa either

Can I punish without an OD reversal? As Bison I don’t have one and I don’t always have the Level 1 ready

@@ChRicke-rt9hy outside of an inv reversal punish that's fast enough to guarantee beating all situations it's unfortunately a guess. If they go for overhead then a long reaching button will punish counter the MK Jinrai, if they go for the low followup you're going to get counter hit. The other solution is to learn the perfect parry timing of the low followup kick he does. The mixup here though is if Ken doesn't do any follow-up, he can then grab your parry recovery

Does anyone know if this new M30 still has turbo functionality that can be mapped, on the fly, without using an app, and for each button? Can you map keyboard keys to the buttons using the app? Or combinations of two keyboard keys to a single button on the controller? This is useful for saving and loading states when practicing games on a controller without having to use the keyboard.

@@theconsolekiller7113 I dont remember seeing any sort of binds or auto functions on this pad You may be able to set buttons to save and load options in the games you're playing yourself via the game options

@@RushG Appreciate the feedback. The previous M30 had turbo when you held down the little button with 3 horizontal lines in it and then pressed the button you wanted to map turbo to. You turned off the feature the same way. I havent been able to find any info if this model also supports turbo.

@@RushG Appreciate the feedback !! Im going to assume its the old one. I finally got a search to come up on google and it said that the Xbox version doesnt support turbo. If you do try it, hold down that button and press a button, and find that it does or doesnt set it to turbo, let me know. Im assuming its not supported. Im guessing because its official Xbox licensed now , they might consider that cheating.

unfortunately with these inputs you'd get SA1 if your character has a SA1 that overlaps with your DP input

@@gameclips5734 Ken's Level 3 is QCF QCF. Sometimes I'd get level 3 my mistake but it was rare I forget the advise I gave but you're wanting to avoid doing whole QC QC inputs using the methods shown

@@RushG that's true, you're less likely to have SA3 which helps reduce the chance of it happening though. Yeh, you have to make sure to finish the input on down-forward which can be tricky on a dpad.

Do you find that X-Input (2 green bars) randomly disconnects? Steam recognizes this as an X360 controller. Every 2-3 minutes it does for me. But D-input (1 green bar) works fine. Steam recognizes this mode as a PS3 controller.

Anti air DPs whiffing all the time, inputs get eaten during drive rush cancel, the range on cancelable CR MK's, raw drive rush into overhead > into full spend into level 3, people tapping parry after whiffing buttons The game just feels chaotic no matter where you are on the screen, the elements of neutral game I enjoy are turned into a circus

It's becoming much harder to find now as it's an old pad. Id say eBay is the best place but just check seller reviews / where it's being dispatched from. Also check to be sure it's new if you are lucky enough to find any on there

How do you suggest i dp when playing footies, would it be faster to crouch then dp or just do the normal dp input?

@@toluaiyenigba7320 id learn both, it's easier to do DP from your current neutral position rather than have to adjust every single time. There's definitely situations where you need adjust but it's more a case of walking forward or backward to get the positioning you need

Are the trigger buttons analog? I didn't understand this in your review. Other than that pretty good review. Too bad it doesn't connect via cable and only via dongle. This anti consumer design makes me not buy it. Otherwise this would be my dream pad. It's actually great the Z and C buttons mirror L and R because otherwise it would mess up every game in existance. You would need to program a custom driver for this pad for every game in the world to support more buttons than an streamlined (xbox etc) pad has.

@@gfdgdfgdfgdfggfdgdfgdfgdfg9709 when you say the trigger buttons being analogue, what do you mean? The triggers are not buttons they fold downwards if that's what you mean. Having a pad that ticks multiple boxes is better for sure. I think I'd prefer is the extra face buttons mirrored L3 and R3, that way the shoulder buttons remain their normal configuration

They recently released a firmware update that gives it wired support. Which is great because the wireless is very unreliable. This is now the best fight pad imo. It only lacks L3 R3 mapping.

Confirming the XBOX M30 works with the Brook Wingman FGC on PS5. Literally the best pad for fighting games too. Don't get the regular one, only the Xbox edition is compatible with the converter.
