Great looking truck! As for the two speed, I love mine. I really only use it if I need just that little bit more wheel speed to make it up a hill but the biggest plus is putting it in second gear to go from one spot to another. It allows me to run the motor at a very low rpm while still moving along at a decent pace and it makes my small battery pack last SO much longer!

It's not an army helmet in the umg 10. It actually is a German firefighter or THW helmet. THW means Technisches Hilfswerk. Basically a emergency force in case of flooding or storms etc. These forces use unimogs.

Well done, I have always been an RTR kinda guy - more interested in crawling than building, but this very well may be my first build. Great video - excited to see axial step up and give traxxas and redcat a run for their money. The competition for super scale between these companies is benefiting all of us - who knows whats next!

This is the way lexan bodies need to be done . Rigid scale realism’s and hide those body clips ! 👍👍
@zodwraith57454 жыл бұрын
I love the hiding of clips but they should have devised some kind of latch system instead of hidden clips. You have to remove bodies a lot and I've been thinking of swapping to magnets but doubt they would stay on during hard rolls.

Oh Boy, another JEEP. My surprise is overwhelmingly... not there. But, great video and overview. Axial needs to PONY UP AND PAY FOR A BETTER LICENSE
@scalebuildersguild4 жыл бұрын
Jeeps are popular the world over, and other than ProLine, and occasionally New Bright, Axial’s got the lock on the license. Why wouldn’t you exploit that? That said, what would you like to see next?
@TheRealRCSparks4 жыл бұрын
@@scalebuildersguild Well Sir, as I do understand everyone has their likes and dislikes - the JEEP rubicon, jk, and other versions *have been* exploited for 10 years. As many of Axials releases have been JEEP branded, (apart from a few cages) (and in consideration for the new SCX24 Chevy C10) - It would have been refreshing to see a square body Chevy, GMC, Nissan, New styled Jeep Truck, Honda, Toyota Tacoma, Dodge Ram, Silverado from Chevy, or anything they haven't already done. Proline has been putting out that Jeep body since 2010.. Now granted NONE of them have ever had Portals.. but Axial had no choice but to introduce them into more of their trucks - as portals kind of have take over the world of trail trucking for the time being. Horizon Hobby HAS the license to the Chevy.. so why not apply it to the larger Axial. Great question, and thanks for asking my opinion
@scalebuildersguild4 жыл бұрын
RCSparks Studio I hate to break it to you, this is a 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL, not a JK. Axial’s also done the C10 for the scx10ii, as well as a Blazer. I think they just went with what they knew would sell. Jeep people (myself included) are a huge demographic. Who knows what the future holds though, I’m sure this platform will get many new toppers over the years! Great chatting with you!
@TheRealRCSparks4 жыл бұрын
@@scalebuildersguild I can tell you are very passionate about Axial, and the Jeep brand. No need to "hate to break it to me", as I did watch your film and am aware that it is a forth generation Jeep Wrangler. You asked what I would have liked to have seen, and I answered honestly. Im glad to share my opinion with you, as that is what you are seeking in the comment section I would assume. To each their own - and there are many things I enjoy about this model. Great chatting with you as well. Keep up the good work on your films

ABOUT TIME(that's not yelling, just excitement. Lol) Axial releases a rig that has features. A rig with a 2-speed, remote lockable diffs(yes, I know the 10.3 don't have it), Dig and one or more of the these features makes trailing more fun. Now portals , though I love them...they do spoil you. Thank you for the awesome review Matt. I shared this video with some group's.

I think they did well pricing it to compete with the TRX4 Sport Kit considering that the TRX4 Sport Kit is $280 and includes wheels, usable tires😀, and unlicensed body. My thoughts are if you’d take the TRX4 Sport Unassembled Kit and add a licensed body, 2speed and dig option (not avail), full interior, wheel wells, beadlocks instead of glue wheels, you’d be over $400 for sure. I built the TRX4 Sport Kit and love it, but I’m now considering upgrading the body and getting an interior too, so really out of the box if you want a great value (and if the plastics are Capra quality) they’ve hit a home run with this. As another aside I’m building an Element Kit currently and while I like it I’ve upgraded the front shock tower and panhard to STRC aluminum, pivot balls to Samix metal and had to buy a body and wheels, so if this SCX10 III had come out earlier I’d be better served to get that over the Element.

So glad they are offering as a kit without electronics. I hate rtrs as i end up pulling all the electronics before I even run them, then typically take them 100% apart and rebuild them as i think thats half the fun, plus then when I do tear downs for maintenence and cleaning I know how everything goes back together. There are so many RC's Ive wanted over the years but never bought simply because they were never offered as a electronics-less kit...

I looked at the photos, read the specs and said, okay, a TRX5. But after watching this, I have to admit it's more. I'll always be more of a 10ii guy, but strategically this is a huge step in the right direction for Axial/Horizon. They made a lot of good choices and the RTR version(s) will fly off the shelves. Also, another thorough, excellent review.

I love it!!! As an individual who loves Jeeps, I was hoping that Axial would bring out a 1/10 scale JLU Rubicon after seeing their 1/24 scale one. With the adjustable frame on this new SCX10 III perhaps will also see a longer Gladiator version as well. I know Proline has a Gladiator body but it just doesn’t look right on a 12.3 wheelbase and the Axial Jeep bodies are much nicer looking with finer details.
