I guess we are all experts, but I agree 100% and dont even get me started on the fact that they seem to be following a trend among installers to focus on the gear and completely ignore room modes. This room is a classic 'before' for every acoustic panel / basstrap manufacturer on the planet - we're all prisoners of our budget but buying the speakers / projector / screen first strikes me as false economy, DSP or no DSP.

In my opinion the amount of money spent on sound and video might have constituted a dark mostly enclosed dedicated theater room. This room looks like both a sound and projection nightmare. I am not trying to be rude just honest. I think the installers had some huge challenges to overcome here. Sound wise, first the open concept area is really a big challenge, a room this size enclosed the owner probably could have spent half the money and get as good more better sound right away. On top of that an additional challenge is the reflections, this room has a lot of not very square aspects. For a really talented sound engineer it could be something great but for most it could be a very hard challenge to over come. Doing a lot of acoustic treatment would help but still not easy. Also the high ceilings are always going to make in ceilings harder, it was cool to see such a beastly speakers used to overcome this almost entirely by the sounds of the customer. Projection wise, again the open concept doesn't help but the biggest problem is also the most easily fixed. Those windows right beside the screen shining in are sad to see. In Fact I think Dreamedia, you should consider helping this customer out and maybe throw in some blackout curtains and install them. these small windows wouldn't cost you much and would make your customers visual experience that much better. As others have mentioned, Its also to bad an ambient light rejecting screen wasn't used, maybe it was recommended, if that's the case sorry to bring it up. Otherwise I think you guys totally maximized the experience given the challenges. I suspect this may not even be the primary viewing room.
@Arthurmorris0124864 жыл бұрын
The screen is ambient light rejecting, so that’s not a concern. I did add the blackout shades as suggested by DreaMedia later. I’ve also had professional acoustic treatments after the fact to enhance the room.

There is a lot of questions before I pass judgement, but from my perspective it seems like you fleeced the customer. Why the 8K eShift projector? Could have saved $8K going the next step down, diverted those funds to more surround channels or subs, Throw distance is not that long and some blackout curtains solve the issue of lower lumen. Alright the customer wanted the absolute best in image quality, no compromise there. He made the compromise in sound going with a 5.1.4 setup. So why sell him the Denon 8500? Is the customer planning to upgrade to 13 channels down the line? He could have gone with a 3600 up to a 4700 and been just fine and saved anywhere from $2300-2900 to put towards subs. Yes the 8500 has a beefier power supply and more power will get to those 9 speakers since it won't have to power 13, but the savings could have got external amplification which would far surpass the 8500 power. Now the subs I kept mentioning. Why the just one PB2000? Funds run out? Customer not a big fan of strong bass? Why not two subs to even out response? Customer dictate location trapped in that cubby area or were REW measurements taken to give him optimal performance? I find it hard to believe that spot was the best. With MSRP and just working with those brands I don't think he got the optimal setup, but highest profit for Dreamedia Home Theater.
@randysalsman69924 жыл бұрын
I said the same thing about the sub, all that money spent and didn't go duals. Kind of a mind fuck if you ask me. I spend way less on my setup and I have dual PB-3000's.
@Arthurmorris0124864 жыл бұрын
I wanted video quality over everything else. Considered even going up to a laser projector, but the nx9 was already supremely good. As for the subs and bass: I have an infant and bass can be overwhelming. We mostly watch shows in our theatre when baby is asleep or sports during the day. Also, I’m not big into bass anyway, so this was an asked for sacrifice. I specifically told them I didn’t need significant bass. It was a request. I do plan to add on a more robust sub(s) system when my son is a bit older, though. At the time I’ll also likely add a dedicated amp, increase speaker channels and maximize the room further. This is one of the reasons I choose the 8500. DreaMedia gave me a bunch of choices and explained everything very thoroughly. The nuanced decisions all came from me, the customer. This room is perfect for my needs. I’ve expanded on this and plan to get further acoustic treatments and have added true blackout shades to the room. There’s been a lot of thought dedicated to this space. I appreciate your concerns, but this fit my personal needs.

Nice installation. Only one minor thing to mention. You really should have the amp and the projector covered to protect from construction dust. The issue is sheetrock dust will go airborne and settle inside with all of the venting. Making the units prematurely get dirty/run hotter quicker, due to dust buildup. Both should be properly cleaned by owners occasionally. But we know a lot of people don’t do that. 👍 Side note, I hope the owner has sufficient central air coverage in the high room. Since you were so hot doing the work up there, makes me wonder. Otherwise, it is gonna be uncomfortable to watch movies and all of the equipment being so much bigger will run hotter.

It appears so based on the images, but Klipsch's data sheet does not provide much info on this. No dealer seem to demo the THX line in their showrooms :( I do wish that Klipsch would have allowed the tweeter to be aimed or the entire housing to pivot for a ideal Atmos use. Should that 504 be horizontal if used as a center channel? Cuz my thought process is to have all 3 front stage speakers vertical and behind a acoustically transparent screen. Would that affect the sound in any way if the center was vertical? (Stupid question I guess)
@Dreamediaav3 жыл бұрын
they dont make an acoustic transparent black diamond
@peppersmith4 жыл бұрын
Awesome, system. I know it sounds Amazing. But those white speaker covers, just don't match. I would use either black or a paintable grilles to match the walls.Yeah, definitely use dust covers on everything. Excellent install....

Can we install all this setup to Samsung Wall? without projector 📽

A sealed speaker? You are speaking to me. I want to keep most of the sound in one room.

This is a tiny room for all that hardware

That's the first thing I thought when seeing this haha
@Antimonkat3 жыл бұрын
um, not really, only 1 sub, and not even any side surrounds, a 5.1 is the basic surround config and will fit in any room, may not need 4 atmos, but they are decent distance apart.

Proper understanding of room acoustics and reflections is how to figure out speaker locations.. it's takes proper training and years of experience to do it right .

Is that why your front speakers are so close together , all of your years of experience 🤔 🤡🤡🤡

I thought all the tweeters at seating are supposed to be at ear level
@LarsonChristopher3 жыл бұрын
No, there is no solid rule. Some tweeters only sound good when at the correct height and aimed a you. Other tweeters do very well for off-axis sound. Just depends on what you're working with. These Klipsch are fantastic when being installed where there is room, and then aimed at the seating position. The horn waveguides allow for the aiming of sound. Plus, this install looks to be done very well, and the gear selection is fantastic.

Seems to be a Sony, possibly the UBP-X800 (not sure if model number is the same across the world). The disc seems to be a collection of IMAX-enhanced demos, followed by Mission Impossible - Fallout and then Avengers Endgame.

White gloves should be won when handling such expensive gear. That dust hand, finger prints on the projector is just outrageous even if you guys will clean it off after.

Are these speakers made in USA 🇺🇸 like their flagship?
@jonphanspromotions4 жыл бұрын
@Sendit Sunday I believe they are made in China. Thats one of the things that I hate about Klipsch. ONly their flagship models are still made in USA, the rest, made in China.

It is so easy to install in wooden house and plywood home.... But in subcontinent house generally made of brick and concrete.... It is a hell lot of work to install these kind of wall and roof fixed speakers. It should be somthing that don't require to demolish whole house. 😥
