"Because he could. He did it because he could." That still gives me chills. The suggestion that sexual deviance was not his motive makes the spectre of Mr. Christian so much more horrifying. He simply ordered the torture and murder of a child for his own amusement - and, perhaps, as a show of power. One wonders why else the 81-year-old industrialist would have kept the film in his private safe, where its eventual discovery would have been inevitable. I think what Mr. Christian "got off" on, more than anything else, was knowing he had the means to do something this horrifically evil and face no repercussions.

Honestly, a thriller of a movie, and a hidden gem. As you watch this, you have to realize this is completely different then what most movies are, and it exposes a dark reality. Great storyline, cast, interesting soundtrack, and honestly one of Cage's best performances. A whole different perspective. Thank god its just a movie. It's worth watching, not a waste of time.

The vast majority of you're sickos aren't super rich or political elites they are nobody's with nothing in they're life but inflicting pain on others to feel powerful. Very rich and powerful people don't need to try and feel powerful they are powerful they move the world and dont have the desire to risk all just to hurt one girl out of billions. Even Epstein wasn't accused of murdering young girls, I'm sure there are some but not nearly what you think most all artist in Hollywood would have a nervous breakdown in horror if faced with something like this or would tremble thinking of the repercussions if they were even tangentially associated with it. They would lose everything for one girl when they could have a line of women or men around the block.

If I was the director. I'd changed the characters fate. Would've been better if Longdale was killed in the abandoned house which Nicolas Cage set on fire. Eddie Poole gets away unpunished. He is last seen running in a Forest. Machine and D. Velvet get killed by Nicolas in the final fight.
@ELLE-ym3lv2 жыл бұрын
Can anyone fill me in on why Velvet felt so betrayed? Longdale commissioned them to make a snuff film … if Velvet wanted a bigger lump sum he should’ve negotiated … why’s it his business what Longdale profited as a middleman?

The issue is honor/trust. Longdale played them. If he played them, he can discard them, see where that is going?

Neither had any more dealings beyond the commission of this tape to be “discarded”? Velvet was a random depraved pornographer w/ a set price who’d deliver & did. Fucked up part is they murdered a teenager on the cheap just to film it.
@joshschaeffer3300 Жыл бұрын
Because I'm sure he felt they were in it together my client will pay this amount etc he might have negotiated a little more for himself but not much more and he had no way of knowing who Londale worked for so no way of knowing how much more there was or how badly his client wanted this. I'm sure there are others who would have made the film so Velvet probably worried about that. We have no way of knowing how much Londale profited over and above but I'm sure they assumed he probably kept back a chunk but not say half or more. Another reason is they are scumbags who would take offense these are men who killed a young girl you think they are going to take it in stride when they realize that they did it on the cheap? Thinking of all that money that they could've got a piece of they will naturally not blame thereself and say you got me good old boy come round the shop later for a nightcap and a good laugh. They are trash and you're applying normal people logic to them like oh man that guy really skinned me on that used car but you live you learn I've got much to be thankful for God bless us all tiny Tim

No mystery why the old man commissioned a movie with machine in it. His proxy basically. They both are lovers. Men who engage in the vilest and the most heinous acts simply because they enjoy it. And because they can. Torture and murder a little girl ( whatever her age she is a little girl because she is totally defenseless and tiny and alone in the world )with less reason than men who say I think I will have another slice of pie. Why? Because I like it and what else would it be good for? That's there question, not why would I but why wouldnt I.

Machine killed Max by slitting his throat. Machine grabbed Max’s face with his Left Hand as he used his right hand to run the blade along Max’s neck.
