The lawyer callled the kid a mistake 😮. The two kids should get to split the $30,000.

The saddest thing is that they were charged hundreds of thousands of dollars and they can’t even keep the embryos straight. I think more money goes to lawyers and insurance than good healthcare workers.

In my research, this is not uncommon to find this out via DNA. I have heard in many cases in my DNA groups how this is not done by accident, but by the doctor sometimes using his own sperm.

Again, $30000 pay off. Until we fix our system and start pulling licenses, instead of just paying for mistakes with insurance, these issues won’t get fixed and the cost of medical care will continue to skyrocket.

I dont understand why he has to adopt her, she was born to the mother and their names are on the birth certificate, as far as the government knows she is their daughter. Are they gonna tell the government now oops actually she isnt our daughter but we'd like to adopt her back? Do parents of ivf babies or who use surrogates have to "adopt" their baby?

@BusArch42Ай бұрын
Not if you are rejected. We were told we were too “old” by the adoption group. I was 33 and hubby was 35. Thankfully we were able to do IVF and have children. Around the same time there was a case in Missouri where a couple adopted a baby from the birth mom and raised her for two years. After two years birth mom ( who lied about not knowing who the father was) brought a lawsuit to erase the adoption based in the father not having being allowed to make that decision. The judge erased the adoption and gave a bonded two year old to people she had not seen since birth. Yeah - no thanks. I would never suggest adoption today. There are no legal protections for the adopting parents.
@kelleygreengrassАй бұрын
@@BusArch42 there's plenty of protections my uncle adopted in his 30s but it was in KS and an international adoption
@BusArch42Ай бұрын
@@kelleygreengrass there are few protections today. A case where a judge can turn over an adoption ruling and take a child from their parents means only if both birth parents go to court and relinquish rights can you safely adopt. That is very rare now. In the last 20 years things have changed dramatically. And international is the only route we would have gone. For international they have to have parental rights terminated in their originating country. The process takes years. One of my friends adopted an orphan from Liberia about 15 years back. The court in Liberia awarded her to them and it took two years after that to actually get her to the USA. The way foster and adoptive parents are treated in the USA is the reason so many children are in foster care and awaiting adoption.
@ACAB.forcutieАй бұрын
