Already with another music composition? Yep, I guess I'm really doing this.
So I don't have a whole lot of "trivia" or whatever for this one. I'm well aware that the verse is a pretty blatant sample of a Hootie and the Blowfish song, and props to anyone who recognizes it. It used to play at Pick N Save sometimes. Which yeah, I modeled part of this after a PICK N SAVE SONG. What has happened to me.
There's also a much smaller nod to a Turtles song, and I'd be even more impressed if somebody sniffed that one out. I dropped a bit of a motif from the "10AM" song 'cause I know ACNH did that sort of thing across a lot of its tracks and I assume New Leaf and the others must have done the same, but I'm not sure. It still sounds a little awkward to me when it shows up, but I guess it's true what they say about you being your own worst critic.
Otherwise, I think the biggest "risk" I took (if you can even call it that) was trying to make a bass line that did something besides sitting on the root most of the time. Granted, there are parts where it does just that, but I also wanted to let other parts of the song stand out in those moments. The banjo is such a fun instrument and I hope to use it more in the future.

Love this Tim! While 10AM is great also, I think this one shows your growth and comfort in the program while showcasing a totally different vibe. The bassline often gets overlooked, but not in this song, it's works so well here. Here's hoping someone let's you compose songs for a game soundtrack someday, you certainly have the skills for it, but if not, we're happy to enjoy whatever you share as long as you have fun with it!

You know Tim, I often find myself surprised by how musically talented you are. You talk frequently about music theory in your LPs that I shouldn't be surprised when you release a banger of a track composed entirely by yourself.

Love it man, please keep experimenting, if you're sick of adding accidentals you can drag and drop a new key signature at any time from the tools section, check out the mixer too, that's fun for reverb, chorus and effects

I did get to play around a bit in the mixer with adjusting volume of certain instruments. Even now I kinda wish I had turned the oboe down ever so slightly. But yeah, I had no idea about dropping in key signatures. I could see that being super useful.

This made me immediately think of 2 things: Summer in Stardew Valley and... Yuffie for some reason. I can't get the image of Yuffie on a farm, not especially doing physical labor, just hanging around, while singing her materia song out of my head while listening to this. Joyous vibes, I like it.

Hey Tim, Old time fan here! I remember seeing your older Mario Paint compositions back in the day around the time I started doing KZbin stuff. Did you ever go to any college courses or anything for music? You have a really good ear for creating some really solid melodies.
@NintendoCapriSun
@NintendoCapriSun 23 күн бұрын
Closest thing to an education I have was a music class we took in the 5th grade, but having a keyboard growing up and improvising melodies on it (with those sweet "Casio chords" where you could just press C to get like a synthesized CEG for example) made it super easy to just play around and make stuff up that sounded cool. My Dad taught me a bunch of stuff on guitar later, but I was also a lot older and so I guess never really made the time to commit to it. So I could play like basic three-chord stuff but that was about it.

Aw, so glad to hear that! The repeat listeners always make me feel grateful, 'cause I know a lot of the songs I love the most in my life are ones that didn't necessarily "hit" me until I heard them multiple times. Even some songs from my childhood that came back later only hit me as an adult after I had probably heard them dozens of times before. But yeah, I think I already know what I'm going to do for the next one, just have to make up my mind which hour. Leaning towards 1AM. Anyway thanks again!

I get what you were probably going for from the title but honestly it gave me the feeling of like an rpg village or one of those songs in pokemon black & white where you can get the musicians around town to join in.
