If these stories don’t make you not sweat the small stuff, I don’t know what will. It’s truly life changing listening to the pain of the survivors and families. You just can’t ever take anything for granted. Every minute you have with the people you love is precious and all that really matters. I’m amazed by the strength of the women who were widowed that day and became single moms. As a wife and mother I can’t fathom the devastation, fear, emotion....and having to hold it together for your kids. It’s overwhelming to just think about. 💔

I can only tell you that it will, in time. Gradually it will be just a little easier and less painful, when you realise all the little ways that your loved one still reaches out and touches your life. Then your loss will be a little less painful, and you will trust a little more.

Every September when we have weather like we did on 9/11, it always brings me back to that horrific day. I so vividly remember the color of the sky and the smell in the air that morning. I will never know the pain this family lives everyday, but my heart will always be with every family that lost a loved one that morning. As beautiful as it was that day, every year on the anniversary, I pray we don’t have that same weather, cause it brings me right back to that morning, the day the world changed forever

Your daughter's had or have so much love for their father, and you love him so much. Just hearing you speak about that day, it's so clear just how much he was, is, loved. I'm only 5 minutes in at present. Even your little dog is crying with empathy!

So brave of this family to share their story and the Dad’s story. So important that these stories be on video for history. I assure these fine ladies that I will never forget what happened that day and how many of the first responders who survived that day(and their family and friends) who later suffered long term snd terminal illnesses long after 9-11. Not enough can be done for the folks they left behind. ♥️to this brave family and thank you from Texas.

I will never forget. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Your dad is a hero, now and forever. And you ladies are also hero’s. You were the reason your dad did what he did; the reason he came home and after the tragedy, lived. He went on because of you. I am so thankful to all the hero’s from 9-11, but thank you will NEVER be enough. God bless you all, and again, I will never forget.

What an intimate story of a brave man who gave his life for mankind . To be a wife of a 1st responder you have so much pride . You know that every time he goes to work he is making a difference and saving lives but in the back of your mind it's there that one day he might not come back. But this was something American people never knew was possible. A terrorist attack so huge on American soil. All those beautiful lives . The ones who were on the planes in the sky helpless and terrorized afraid . The ones who went to work that day and had the misfortune to work in the world trade center or pentagon. The brave who were there to run in when everyone else was running out. All the 1st responders . To hear that he survived that day and the hell he endured AFTER was even far worse than that is unthinkable. He still died from the attack on 9/11. To hear that he hugged his friends I actually experienced the same when my younger brother died at 22yrs old suddenly. The week after I saw him 3x and I ran out to hug him each time and it was a stranger of coarse. I saw my Dr and he diagnosed me with a nervous breakdown so despite everything he had a nervous breakdown while he was working . God bless Ritchie. God bless his beautiful girls. I will never forget Ritchie .

It must have been so hard for all of you, and especially for him, to witness such senseless devastation. You felt some of it. Your husband, father is at last at peace, in the arms of angels. No more pain or suffering,or heartache. It's now the healing time for each of you. It cannot be hurried. Just know that the weight is lifting, and take comfort that you will all be united in a most powerful love, that transcends all. It's not far away. Almost within reach. He wants you girls to stay strong and to be able to move forward and be truly happy and he knows how much he was loved by you, and always will be. I wish you all very soon to be free from all grief and sorrow. Your tears will wash away the sadness, and in their place will come fresh hopes and dreams. He will stay close, always, and be with you, right in your hearts, so never be afraid or feel deserted. You will find him in prayers, sometimes, and at other times when you least expect to. Each time you do, you will start to regain the joy that was shared at the happiest moments, and the memory of sorrow will clear like clouds when the sun shines. All those who lost loved ones will find this pure love, eventually. We nearly all have lost someone over the years. We wish it to be peacefully, but sometimes it's in the most tragic way, and very painful to imagine, but there are many Angels of God at work, and devoted to saving the souls of those caught up in disasters. Every one of those who passed on that day will now be at peace. You have testified to your father's, husband's love today, and how hard he worked to do all he could for his brethren and to what lengths he went to help clear the wreckage and honour his friends. He is proud of you, as you are proud of him. Now you must trust in God. Although God has the power to save our souls, he does not interfere in what man does, and has given man free will, and cannot be blamed for acts of war and terror. Humans have to learn what love is, in order to create heaven on earth. Without that, there will be periods of suffering before peace. Each one of those who prayed that day, when they were facing death, and believe me, I am sure that every soul in the towers did, they will have been taken up to relieve them of their suffering, and caught by God's angels to stop any more pain, in a flash, so don't torture yourselves. All you can do is offer up prayers, and be glad they are now at peace. After sorrow, comes joy, and I sincerely wish you joy and thankfulness for the time you shared with your loved ones. Thoughts and blessings to each one of you, and thank you for sharing all the moments with the watchers and readers, and touching our hearts.💓🙏💓🙏💓

This brings-out a dimension I had not really been to aware of in 9/11: _survival-guilt._ --- And the IMPACT that had on some, if not all, for the rest of their lives. And how THAT trauma affected their families over time. The wife-mother says _"he was never the same",_ and _"he was a different man"._ Its now burned-into-my-mind, that too many additional souls suffered and died than those who perished at the attack-sites upon initial-impacts, and were later crushed to death at implosion of the WTC buildings. _Those who worked on the "Pile" were doomed to pay a steep price as well,_ only delayed by months or years, sadly. I hope the family is doing as well as can be expected, absent their beloved. --- May the God of Mercy comfort them.

Amazing HERO!!! This was such a great detailed count of not only their experiences during 9/11, but the aftermath and what their dad went through for the rest of his life. I can’t even imagine how he felt, and it breaks my heart for him and for everyone; for those who lost someone, for the survivors; for everyone. I don’t know if anyone can answer a question I have. I’m mot sure I understand all the terminology for fire fighters. If I’m understanding correctly, he wasn’t at rescue 5 on Sept 10 & 11. I think he was at Engine 250 co. Are these both firehouses? and did he belong to both firehouses? I’ve been seeing a lot of stories on 9/11, and sometimes I’ve heard places referred to as firehouse or engine or rescue. Since I’m not familiar, I just want to make sure I understand correctly because sometimes it seems like they are used interchangeably, but I’m not sure.

I'm so sorry for your family's loss! I many times wonder if they all could have had the for thought that those towers were going to go down fast! Just admitting they had no time! Just have one crew at a time to go quickly up those stairs get on a loud speaker tell these people to get out as fast as they could! I think I'd refrain from letting the police officers in you know? It's like a small kitchen no one can move around only two tops can work freely you know? I wasn't there but one crew at a time as one NY FIRE CHIEF said after the fact the people up at the top were already dead! Spare your guys and work on the ones living! Leave police officers to do what they do best keeping people out of the area you know? I'm so sad! God Bless you all who worked so hard that day 9/11/01!🙏🗽🙏🌃🙏🌆🌇🙏
