Huge appreciation for Jacob going through Smeding's process with us! His explanations were really concise and easy to follow and his camera work is pretty good too. I don't know much about big blocks, so hearing about the changes Dart made to the oil galleries and the information about the splayed bolts on the main caps was really interesting.

Everything that attaches to the rod journals is “bob weight,” rod, rod bearings, rod bolts, wrist pins, pin locks, ring pack, and piston. The combined weight of all those parts should always come close to if not match the weight of the crankshaft counterweights.

good to see you back on the channel Zac ,the move to Utah brings you options and more freedom and you can drive your side by side on the roads, gotta love that fact alone, I like Smeding over Texas speed they take a little more time to build their engines I have been told, with this kind of engine component matching in weight and balancing that 9.3 LITRES of FURY gonna scare some people and just make you smile that much more, my old coworkers dad been building race engines for years so i know attention to detail makes all the difference in a build, look forward to the rest of the build, gonna be some nice axles and transmission and transfer case to handle this beast 👍

If i heard you correctly you are running a Holly Super sniper. As someone whose run this on my BBC C10 and done numerous install/review videos i can say for sure to utilize the non progressive linkage and fabricate up an extension where the throttle cable mounts to the EFI unit. The added lever arm reduces pedal effort making it easier to leave smoothly. I had a ton of issues with my BBC wanting to break tires loose when letting out the clutch. Additionally, and you probably already know this, but the fuel pump Holley supplies with the Super Sniper kit wont support your power levels. Using their Super Sniper C10 in tank kit im already close to the limit at 515hp. If i could go back i would have made a trap door above my tank so swapping pumps in the future was easier. One last thing im curious about will be your MAP at WOT. On the chassis dyno here in SLC they were seeing vacuum at WOT through my Super Sniper. Maybe something to keep an eye on depending on your intake setup.
