Excellent idea for your test tank. I might have to try that.

Anyway to check the fuel line specifically? Carb has just been cleaned throughly will idle but once put in forward it dies out. I looked at the fuel line it’s starting to crack in a few places. I have that same motor.
@LivetofishOutboardRepair2 жыл бұрын
Anytime your fuel line has cracks in it Replace it. You’re probably sucking air from Tiny pinholes in the fuel line.

Hey having the same issue. Did you ever get it figured out?
@LivetofishOutboardRepair Жыл бұрын
Potorefe … yea there really wasn’t anything wrong with the motor, it was his fuel line being old and rotted sucking air. Once I used my own fuel line and primer bulb it ran fine.

Well done brother I need some help. Quick connect female side fluel barb clip is stuck on the motor. The release clip lost its spring. How can i get the connect off the motor? Thank you man.

Georgie…. That’s a new one for me. I have never run across that problem. I guess I would try cutting it off trying not to damage the male end. I hope someone here can answer better than I can. Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting.

@@LivetofishOutboardRepair i figured it out. I took the male end off the fuel line while fenale quick connect was still stuck on there. I brought both ends stuck to each other to my local marine shop caise i didnt want to damage the male end. Anyway they were able to pry them off eachother. Turned out the old o ring was way to small and was sqeezing way to hard. Save the male end and bought a new quick connect fuel clip. All fixed Thank you brother for answering back.

Probably a bit late, but any idea what year that 9.9 was from? I have one just like it with no indications anywhere of what the year would be. Thanks ahead of time

I thought it was the loose spark plugs that were the issue?
@LivetofishOutboardRepair Жыл бұрын
I spoke to the owner and he told me he pulled the spark plugs after several attempts to start the motor. He just didn’t torque them down before bring me the motor. His fuel line looked like it was in very bad shape, so I believe this was his original problem.
