CORRECTION: 4:44 Arochukwu was captured on December 28, 1901, and not December 28, 1902. The war was over in early 1902, not early 1903. These errors are highly regretted.

As you can see here , the north has been used by the British against the easterners also the east are known as self freedom fighters who hate being enslaved. Also we’ve learned that Nigeria independence was Igbo created which the north and West never supported

Our brutal history with Europeans leaves me baffled as to why some of us forgive them. I will never forgive them nor forget our past.

We should foster forgiveness not hatred. Not keep animosity from the past in our heads. Otherwise, we will never achieve peace in this world.

There's no reason to hold on to it.. It's history and believe me you, if you were living when these events happened,many of all that happened would seem pretty normal and OK to you.. Imagine what people that will live in 2100s will think of us when they get to hear our own part of history as well.. I'm sure many will find some of the things we currently do very weird and perhaps evil. But notwithstanding, it's great we are being educated about these events, hopefully we can try not repeat what has happened. I understand you, i have felt like that before, but just let it all go brother! There's more to life!! Last last its all vanity. Everyone in these stories no longer exist, the ball is in our court! Cheers

@@user-jj1bp3es3j you can forgive because I’m sure you’re brainwashed by the European religion to forgive your enemies but do you think Europeans have forgiven you for ruling them 700 years ago? They don’t forgive . There’s nothing like forgiveness in nature, that’s why when you go against nature it backfires without forgiveness. The British use religion to calm ya type down

Do your homework. Arochukwu was not a kingdom. It was a successful polity of traders. The cult was devoted to settling disputes by killing or enslaving. Mary Slessor was present at the 1902-03 military campaign.

I believe you got it wrong when you say the foundation of Aro was slavery, or some type of revolt. That's not what I read in books.
@josephasuquo4918
@josephasuquo4918 Жыл бұрын
Interesting that's the foundation...the majority that carries out the coup was as a result of revolt...and it was the mixture of Igbo and ibibio slave that stage the revolt against obong okon ita

@@zoejesus52 ...let me point your to Igbo professor because if I'm to direct you to Uni Uyo or unical you will think they are biased...read professor Adiele Afigbo'''ropes of sand"..Dr Nwankwo nwaezeigwe..or professor Felicia Ekejuba who's from Aro,..thesis of aro history ""...which confirm that aro was a revolt from slave trade ,abi how can it be a war and the aro end up adopting the tradition of ibibio eg,long juju,itam Ekpe,the ITU ,the Ibiono stay away from the rebellion knowing fully well that if Obong okon ita survive he'll stay dragging the port with them....all the professor I pointed thier book to you are Igbo and one is even from Aro Incase you still want to argue......I will furnished you with material from uniuyo and unical

@@josephasuquo4918Sometimes, professors may actually not b right you know, that's why they leave out times for people to refute them. The books I read about it doesn't say so. And I've also made my on site research, it doesn't say anything that Aro's were made by slave trade or some revolt. That's just an false assumption that has taken to be correct. Ibibios do not even use Long JuJu. They only came there for worship. The closest people Aro's were close to where the Efiks and not the Ibibios.

It’s Igbo not ibo and!!!, Aros were never slaves rather they sold a lot of slaves including Ibibios . They were judged at the popular amaikpe still in Aro and sold to Europeans as spoils of war. They went to war against Obong okon with i oo oo slaves not themselves cos Aros were slave masters in the olden days.
@Ak4900-ak
@Ak4900-ak Жыл бұрын
there are no records by the colonizers, European & Arab explorers that the ARO’s sold slaves , it was propaganda by the British to justify their brutal expedition on the people after they were conquered.

Do your homework. We know why the Ibibio Women's War happened. You should have mentioned the fact that Aba was a small, new colonial town.
