The fact that UNWRA has a whopping 13,000 employees in Gaza really makes you wonder, doesn't it? Why do they need such a huge team for just aid work? It almost looks like they're stepping into roles that should be Hamas' job, like running the place. It’s THIS huge presence of UNWRA that enables Hamas to forgo its governance responsibilities to focus on building 500 km of tunnels and rockets, instead of taking care of their people. The United Nations has two refugee agencies - UNHCR for approximately 100 million refugees worldwide, and UNRWA specifically for Palestinians. UNRWA has become a source of income for some HAMAS supporters or militants. This is unfair to refugees in other parts of the world with insufficient funding. UNRWA should be dismantled and UNHCR should be used instead!

I don't think this would affect the judges in any way because it still doesn't justify Israels actions inflicted on Palestinians. The media has reported the story about the UNRWA employees as if the investigation is complete and the employees have been found guilty however that is not true,the investigation is still being done .The UNRWA spokesman said to protect UNRWA's ability to deliver humanitarian assistance in the world they took the decision to end the contracts of those employees allegedly accused of being involved in the Oct 7th Hamas actions immediately and that the accusation is being investigated.My understanding is that because Western governments(US,UK,Australia etc) called for stopping funding to UNRWA,UNRWA hoped that by sacking the employees immediately the Western governments would lift the stop on funding to UNRWA!Even if the employees are guilty in no way does it change or justify Israels vile actions of collective punishment,oppression and illegal occupation of Palestinians ! Also wanted to mention that the information Israel gave to UNRWA regarding the alleged accusations where information obtained under Israeli interrogation in prisons apparently,how accurate would that information actually be if people are being interrogated to get information? Totally unaceptable for an UNRWA worker to be involved in any activity such as October 7 . An absolute disgrace re the aims of the organisation these workers are meant to represent. There needs to be a structure of accountability set up by donar nations and closely monitored in order to ensure the said aims of the organisation are actually observed . Why I challenge every young person today to take up the path of non violence for the sake of the children killed on both sides in any war or armed conflict .
