I came here to see what to use & how to do it without making my hair crazy. I guess I just have bad hair
@publicserviceannouncement47773 жыл бұрын
Hey, ladies. Just from looking at your profile pics, I'd say it's probably your hair type... because... I have the same hair type. We're more wavy than curly. I do get some ringlet curls but they don't last. The other problem might be that you need more protein (moisture makes curls silky but too silky means not enough hold.) For example, it's recommended to use a DROP or two of oil to scrunch out the crunch from the gel cast. Oil (moisture) affects the hold (from the gel.)
@publicserviceannouncement47773 жыл бұрын
All that being said, if you aren't using gel yet, gel is going to be your best friend. Gel = hold.
@publicserviceannouncement47773 жыл бұрын
Oh, another example, if you have wavy hair like me and brush it out, it's practically straight with just a little wavy here and there (maybe one ringlet if I'm lucky or it's humid) because the natural oils from our hair basically do the same thing I described when you scrunch out the crunch except basically all the hold is gone at that point.

I can't do a half up with my curls. Firstly, I can't get my hands in to separate the hair without cutting into several curls and the (forget frizz, I've got straight up fuzz). Secondly, I would have to cut the band out and some hair to get it out. Lastly, my hair would knot all up and get some dreading and again I would need scissors.

if you can switch up the way you're wearing it up that will help avoid damage. the point is to not keep tension in the same area all the time. change your part, do high one day then low the next, do a half pony hidden inside your pony or bun so that moves the tension, etc. also you might want to use different products for different climates, or focus on retaining moisture as I figure airplane air is kind of dry? I could be wrong though.

Same. IF I can even get my wavy/curly hair to look beautifully curly, just ONE time up in a scrunchy or coil band like yours and they turn into a mish-mash of wave/frizz/flatness:( I do not have tight curls...more like a soft coil to 'meh' wave to areas of coarse frizziness. Not sure I can ever get my hair to curl with such spring and uniformity. I usually end up pulling my hair back out of frustration.

@JannelleOShaughnessy6 жыл бұрын
I wash my hair every 5 to 7 days typically. Just keep an eye on how your hair looks and feels, when it feels dry, its time to condition! I believe in this video I had used a curl sculpture from Mixed Chicks which helps with definition.

I'm relatively new to curly hair, since just a couple years ago was when I noticed my hair was curly (since previously I never saw it down and un-gross. It was a time.), and this is kinda helpful! Totally subscribing, since I tend to be okay, but there're only so many times you can do space-ponies on day 3 or 4! Edit: My hair tends to be too short for most of these, but this vid led me to the rest of your videos which pertain much more to my hair!

@S1mpronia Жыл бұрын
@@reyonloftin374 puberty is insane, I was trying to figure out how to interact with all my body changes, and ended up neglecting my hair. It was frizzy, oily, and in a ponytail 99% of the time at a length that does not work for me now. I cut my hair when changing schools and immediately I had almost corkscrews, and looking back at pictures my hair was definitely getting curlier up until that point, but hair was never my focus as a person until I cut it.

My hairstylist uses a mixture of lemon juice and water in a spray bottle as a natural hairspray for her girls. It can make the blonde get a lot blonder and may require a bit more conditioning, but the hair stays in place so long as it's not scrunched too much. (I've used it myself in place of hairspray.) Take a damp cloth to her face after spraying it though, or apply it directly to hands into hair. There have been some instances of people having great sensitivity to citrus on the skin in the sun.
