Omg. I have salt and pepper hair and have been hesitant on the purple overtone I bought, I’m so curious how it faded out!

Thank you for the tips for how to get the roots away from the scalp, starting when wet! I have so much trouble getting volume other ways because my hair is insanely frizz-prone even with good products, but I’ll have to try this!

Thank you for the clips idea, have not yet tried that. Like you, I rarely have success with the bonnets, I mostly use it to keep my hair from frizzing and to keep it out of my husband's face if I'm being totally honest lol. I have loose curls that refresh well, but since cutting it to around shoulder length, it's too short to pineapple into my bonnet, and it makes it look wayyy worse when I do try. It just seems like it looks horrendous until I wet it down with the spray bottle, and I'm hoping your clip method will help me avoid the soakage every day lol. Loving your comments about black women teaching us white girls how to deal with our crazy, beautiful hair. There's an ad where the woman says: nobody cares that you're not black, get the bonnet! And I just love that lol

Here in 2024 and really appreciate it! I had no idea how to handle my curls. I thought they were garbage. They aren’t! Sadly - I am 50! I wasted so much of my life hating my hair or if not hating it I didn’t care for it and I for sure had no idea what I was doing so I did everything wrong. Add undiagnosed ADHD? Yeah I guess I should be happy I’m not 60 and learning.

I’m a new subscriber but I have CPTSD and all the stuff from my terrible childhood. It’s important to review these things so you don’t make the same mistakes with your children.

Malibu c has hard water crystals that you can buy for under $4 a pack in drug stores and you only have to leave them in for 5 minutes. It left my hair feeling so smooth but I guess my water isn't hard enough to see a difference. They also have packets for Blondes and brunette to remove brassiness along with shampoo and conditioners for hard water

We need to talk more about black women giving us wavy/curlies sooo much hair care information!!! When I started my journey of figuring out my hair, everything I leaned came from black women. It was wild, especially given that I have fine, maybe 2b white lady hair. US hair schools almost exclusively teach to deal with all hair the same way (not textured). It is great that curl friendly products can be found more easily now, but just a few years ago all those products were segregated in the back, on the bottom shelf, in an appalling modern day reminder that our society is still built for whiteness. ❤❤❤

Just only got length cut of and said I wanted to go for one length, my stylist disagreed and said it would get the triangle look. But I don't think that will be the case with my fine curls. I'm gonna go for one length and let's see what happens!
