I wanted to give you some advice. If you happen to come across an old Dremel and I'm talking 20 years old, for cheap, grab it. The only thing better than a Dremel is having two Dremels. After 25 years my Dremel started to slow down, at intervals. I thought it was done. I went and bought a new one. I couldn't believe the difference. The new one is HORRIBLE compared. I didn't go cheap either. Expressing my disappointment to a friend, then listening to a good scolding of, the typicsl they don't make em like they used to you twit. He helped me fix it. So 7 bucks for a pack of 2 brushes. Took the advice of a very kind man on KZbin to get as much dust out as possible. Ta-da, I am not even exaggerating it's better than my new one. If you do go looking for a second hand one Just remember it will be small stuck in the bottom of a box And covered in probably white powder, and it will probably blend in with everything else in the box and it might be hard to see turn the box upside down that's what I always do. 2s better then one. Plus buy the quick change bits whenever you see them, they sell fast. Pardon me I apologize this is a perfect stranger telling you what to do I'm not trying to be the guy I just was really surprised at the difference between the new and the old and the disappointments I felt.

Those rotary tools work extremely well when used as they are designed to be used. They were not designed to take the place of an angle grinder or air cutoff tool. They are designed for wood, plastic or very thin metal. Like a couple mm thick metal.
@ChrisThedudenurseАй бұрын
I’d just stop at plastic, they don’t do much after that.

I sell stuff at the farmers market that I’ve welded im 18 and brings in a little more money I use the 50$ one from harbor freight I use it for the small stuff like flowers and letters and other designs I cut out of sheet metal as I don’t have a oxy torch yet and it’s WAAAY better for small stuff then my angle grinder
@ChrisThedudenurse3 ай бұрын
It seems to do well with that stuff for sure.
@COEYRN7 ай бұрын
You don't need to buy any at a regular store . Honestly just go to any Reuse Recycle place, and you'll find tons of these. It would appear it's one of those things that people just don't bother with cuz they shatter. Plus thanks
@toxicity66296 ай бұрын
Yeah they sell the black ones with the lines going through it they keep the blade in tact while you cut a lot better than the brittle sandpaper looking ones
@BrantlyFrederick7 ай бұрын
This would be be fun to have next to my 3 real dremels, even the dremels won’t cut exhaust pipe too well but it’s perfect for other stuff, 2 of my dremels can vaporize plastic basically so I don’t need anything with a dumb amount of power any more
@ChrisThedudenurse7 ай бұрын
Oh she ain’t got no power that’s for sure.

Honestly. Buying actual dremel brand or the Milwaukee rotary tool will change your life. And name brand dremel blades and bits. There’s no comparison

@@gordonbyrd7199 agreed but this was a simple test of a $9 tool.
@gordonbyrd719920 күн бұрын
@@ChrisThedudenurse I suppose for $9 it’s probably the best tool on the planet honestly. I’d say that’s a good buy then lol

Have the Dremel version. They too break very easily. Not very good at all for cutting metal. Extremely fragile accessory. Going to get the strong one at some point.
@ChrisThedudenurseАй бұрын
Yeah this is not what these were designed for at all
@infernaldaedra11 ай бұрын
Definitely better as a engraver or Polish tool where you want less if a chance of hurting the surface
@ChrisThedudenurse11 ай бұрын
no absolutely not a cutter.
@AquaTech2256 ай бұрын
Engraving is ok. An that even depends on what material. But polisher. Not so much. It just don’t have the juice behind it to do much with that. It would be slow going for sure

Will this tool, designed for jewellery and small stuff, cut this thing, which is better suited for an angle grinder, with a wheel that's being used improperly? All jokes aside, these resin wheels don't like to be plunged.

Or used at all for that matter, this was just a quick test.

@@ChrisThedudenurse they take a little finessing. I use them to sharpen tiny (0.3-1mm) drill bits because the grit is fine enough for it.

Dawg that’s a grinding wheel or sm not a cutoff wheel

It’s the set that came in the kit I’d definitely recommend buying an actual cut off wheel
@I_throw_coins_at_squirrels Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisThedudenurse yeah, I got that same tool at harbor freights and I got the set that was next to it and it kinda works, but stops when you put the slightest pressure

That harbor freight one is junk. That being said. If you need a single use engraving or something like that works decent for that. But if you’re looking to actually get work done. Pass on this one. I do have one of these also. I can’t remember what I originally got it for. But the disk ect it comes with is just as much junk. An has very little strength/power. But for that one time use for something simple. For the price you can’t beat it.

This was just a quick test. I don’t use it for this all the time.
