I just don't understand why poker sites and live tournaments lack so many regulations and precautions. For example, in live poker events, all devices should be banned such as cell phones, headphones, and tablets. Also, no one should be allowed in the room with those devices. These are very obvious mistakes by poker organizers, for that reason they can't be trusted either. I would never play for real money on online poker because the owners, the management, and employees can see everyone's poker hand at all times and they can give that information to anyone.

Tournament cheating is rampant. Early in a tournament, teams pass chips during breaks, to keep members afloat. Later, team members dump their stacks to each other, according to a prearranged hierarchy, with the goal of amassing the entire team's chips into one players' stack. Teams use signals at the table. Calling a supposed "bluff" heads-up is the way to pass chips, even an entire stack.

@@paulg6274 It's virtually impossible to sniff out, or put another way: no casinos keep an accurate count of tournament chips. Excluding rebuys, the exact same number of chips should be in play for the entire tournament. For that matter, do you think anyone keeps track of the chip count in a rebuy tournament with add-ons at the break?
@paulg6274
@paulg6274 2 жыл бұрын
@@xxxYYZxxx ya i think its very likely players would notice if guys return from break with way bigger stacks, and the chips usually stay on the table. also you think they're always playing at the same table and they turn over these bizarre all in hands for stacks? And what, they're travelling around together? Cause doing these repeatedly a the same casino would for sure get sniffed out. No man, this isnt happening much at all
@xxxYYZxxx
@xxxYYZxxx 2 жыл бұрын
@@paulg6274 One chip in a stack isn't likely to be noticed, but can make a huge difference for surviving the tournament. Not only does collusion happen, it's been recently documented by prominent poker vloggers. Chips can be palmed and exchanged during tournaments, but in many cases chips from low-stakes tournaments are identical to big-stakes tournaments, and low-price chips get snuck into higher stakes tournaments that way. Who's going to "sniff them out"? What if they tip the floorman and dealers? If the casinos wanted to sniff anyone out, the first thing they'd do is count the chips, which I've already explained is never done.

You don't have to actually loan your laptop to another person for them to install a trojan on it. They just have to have physical access to it, if for example they're visiting, and it's lying around when you're gone and they're there. They don't need your user ID and password. They can boot to a portable operating system on a thumb drive, get access to your file system, and leave no trace that they were ever there.

The accusation of finding chips in Nguyen's room wasn't about a place in California. It was about the Foxwoods Casino. The accusation has been debunked by the director of their poker room. The alarm went off because Nguyen's traveling companion was cooking fish in the room. No chips were found in the room, per that poker room director. However, Nguyen's use of chip dumping teams is widely known. Mike Matusow insists that the rule requiring both players to show their hands when they are both all in should be known as the Men Nguyen rule, because it was put in place to stop his chip dumping scheme in tournaments.

The Alea in Glasgow (Scotland) is one my local casinos for poker. The player was colluding with the dealer and they were reading the deck. He got caught because he was doing weird things like calling a raise and all in on flops like 22K with hands like 85 off suit and the board running out like 88. The dealer was taking 25% winnings and it was the e players that flagged it

Most scams happen on line, simple too avoid, DON'T PLAY ON LINE FOR MONEY, unless you are willing to loose it all. Yes, in live play, both cash and tournament, there can be some cheating and collusion between players at the table. Either pocketing a chip or two, or by giving some kind of signals on hands. But, as players ourselves, we should always be aware of this possibility, and report our suspicions to the floor staff. If needed, change tables in cash games, or leave the bad games. I've spotted a player playing a chip or two when "assisting the dealer in pushing a pot to another player" reported my suspicions to the floor staff, whom then had security review the video. No hard proof was found, but the player was told to only touch his own chips, or he'd be asked to leave. If I see him again at my table, I watch him like a Hawk, or change tables myself. Even in home games, players should insure the chances of cheating are reduced, someone other than the shuffle cuts the deck, and cut card on bottom to prevent bottom dealing, and watch for signals between players. The risk of cheating is always there, but players can be aware of the common and easier ways, and avoid them, or leave the game.

A well known poker player said it's only about 5% of players are cheating ,if there's 100 million players well that's only 5 million ,that's ok then 🤔
@ianburns1175
@ianburns1175 2 жыл бұрын
It's not ok....it should be rooted out where found. 5% Is actually huge because if the average rake is 5% then you are already starting 10% in the hole as far a losses go. This means you need to win 55% of your pots just to break even. Unless you are a prodigy you are going to struggle to get above that number because of variance. This is why there are so many losing players vs winning players. Now having said that, I'm not sure how you get that number lower. Poker is a game of math and deception, and the deception draws scammers. This is why you only stake through sites like Stake Kings who guarantee your money. As far as handing off chips in tournaments players should be aware of chip stacks and you can notice chip dumping if it's done too obvious. I'd like to see them use RFID chips that get scanned from overhead of the poker table after every hand. That would end chip handing....

Haha no. To do what Ivey did took a lot of setting up especially with the casino. He should never have had to pay any money back anyway. He asked the casino for a certain type of deck to be used which they obliged to. So they should have had to wear that and not used cheap dodgy cards which clearly have edge markings. You’ll see on most high quality poker cards they will have a white border on the top surrounding the blue/red/green w/e color they use. This makes edge marking impossible as the cards aren’t cut on the print.
