@@Syndicate888 Much love from me,i read your comment and understood your problems because i got 2 brothers and 2 cousins (all male) and all got much problems somehow like those you explained or worse. One of them is married,now in second marriage and the problems have somehow caught up with some of his children in the both marriages. Sometimes overeating,other times undereating till malnourished. So thats why i commented "you first seek help",which is good. I am a mature lady ,58yo and i cannot comment with sarcasm or mockery or trying to offend anyone with my language. Great stuff here. As a psychologist and a keen student of his philosophy. Another example is getting rid of social media outlets not reading the news or watching the news. It’s all propaganda. Spend as much time with a limited amount of people especially your family and not others that bring no value to your life. They’re never going to appreciate you or like you. I’m opposed to going to any holidays with family I do not get along with as well. Better off.

To me it is incredibly ironic that an allegory about people being fed a false reality is credited to Plato even though the words describing it supposedly come out of the mouth of Socrates. So was Socrates not real which would mean that Plato himself helped to build the cave or have other cave makers deliberately robbed Socrates of his credit in order to make Plato a great philosopher? I am bothered by the fact that so many "philosophers" ignore this paradox.

It's beautifully done, and it's something we need in this time more than ever. Lately I've been sharing it across many different social media platforms. I really believe we need a return to #Platonic_Idealism. At least in some fashion or iteration. We need a safe and healthy place to debate the very pressing social issues of today. And we need a method, that isn't the equivalent of shiting in our hands and playing patty cakes... Because currently? That's what it feels like.

Philosophers and most everyone else for that matter are too focused on happiness. Fulfillment and meaning are vastly superior. This is one of the many priceless lessons we learn from real religions. Philosophy is a powerful way to back up a real religious moral framework but is inadequate as a moral framework itself, hence the Greeks' famous and profound lack of understanding despite their great intellects and ideas.

But dont fulfillment and meaning produce happiness? And what is this "about the Greeks' famous and profound lack of understanding?"
@loganvinsonbjj
@loganvinsonbjj 3 жыл бұрын
@@nocommentnoname1111 They do, and they may even be the most efficient way of producing it in the long term, but the issue is what people use as their life’s goal or “North Star” if you will. The problem with seeking happiness is multifaceted, but two main problems are: 1) seeking in and of itself is diametrically opposed to happiness, and 2) happiness will not sustain you or even exist in the parts of your life that are taken over by suffering. As for the Greeks I’m talking about how they tend to throw their hands up and admit that they don’t understand at all the universe’s meaning, or man’s purpose, or many other similar topics. Practically “proof in the pudding” that the minuscule mind of man is not capable of understanding the universe and its creator. This is what religions (I’m only well versed in Christianity) mean by faith. Faith is trust in the structure of reality even though you’re incapable of understanding. It is by definition what gives us the ability to move forward. Our level of philosophy is simply what gauges how fast we can move. Not much good to move quickly if you have no direction! :)

6. To be a great teacher you first need to be a great student. The opposite doesn't apply though especially in the job market and that's what people are usually struggling with. Being a great student (follower) doesn't guarantee that you will be a great teacher (master). It ignores other usually far more important skills for a leadership role, like soft skills. Plus it doesn't take into account competition (other students being far greater than you or having a better fit for the role).

Platonists have long enjoyed the delusion that we are in direct contact with mathematical objects, but we are not discovering, we are simply inventing abstract representations of artifacts that are the result of metaphysical truths, and their effect on our detectable, physical, world . For example, circles and spheres are the products that emerge from omni-directional forces when they repel each other. What we call a 'sphere', a flat-lander would call a circle. Inductively, we shouldn't assume our limited 3d models of 'spheres' are exactly what spheres are in some absolute realm (in fact an absolute realm for such an object doesn't exist). But this isn't to say that certain underlying metaphysical truths don't exist - just that we cannot directly access those truths, because they are beyond our senses. The arrogance of proponents of pure reason is one thing, but it is of the vilest offense of the West, to engineer a system against those who hold the, diametrically opposed, empirical worldview. Although worth noting, that goes beyond the topic in question.

It is confusing to call Plato's philosophy "idealism". In modern philosophy, "idealism" means subjectivism, i.e., that the world is formed in our mind. But Plato said that the world is formed by objectively existing Ideas, independent of our mind. Plato's philosophy is Platonism, not idealism.

Plato used all of his.time ...wisdom & knowledge to come up with these quotes but what Plato didn't know is that thanks to my smartphone a lazy 38 year old living in his mom's basement will conquer the same wisdom & information while eating a whole pizza 🍕 and yelling at his mom to bring him more diet soda 🤠

Plato´s story about Atlantis is a must to read! Same thing is going to happen to us, soon. I will say within 25-50 years.

Plato's philosophy is timeless and free. It is beyond the control of time, nor the power of one's emotion cannot dictate how one should live life. He's the real deal, he is the cure to poverty and madness

The first life lesson reminds me of what YHVH tells Cain in Genesis 4:6-7 imploring him to be master over his desires. Lesson four reminds me of the Adam. It says in Genesis 2:24 after Adam is split into Adam and Eve, that is why man leaves his mother and clings to his wife.

Imagine playing stuff like this for your kids instead of the usual cartoons or gamer streams. Now imagine playing this and things like it while your child sleeps so they grow up knowing these things that a lot of time we gotta figure out ourselves... Man, if parents created playlists of videos they have already watched and approved, they could even help guide their child's critical thinking and skill development. Intersperse or even remix those videos with bilatteral and classical music. Add in clean rap and song lyrics when they start talking and use popular songs to create parodies of the songs that work as pneumonic devices. I dont have kids, so if anyone wants to try this and lmk how it goes, id be interested in finding out if there are equations to developing genius abilities in people.
