I've done this for three days in a row -my frozen shoulder feels 50% better already!

I did 2 rounds tonight--back-to-back. On the 2nd round there was much less snap, crackle and pops, and, 2nd time felt much smoother. Everybody has different levels of pain/discomfort, I'm lucky this workout is really helpful for my discomfort. Love it.

I feel like Gayle really gets what Miranda is teaching. I've done a posture mini workout with a different instructor, and although she was also good at explaining, I don't think she impressed enough relaxing through the movements. Thank you Gayle Garcea, this workout really helped me.

Thank you for this wonderful mini workout, Gail! I tend to hold tension in my shoulders, and so I needed to experience a workout that takes things slowly and intentionally and smoothly. I appreciate the verbal cues to help me relax my shoulders and to use my lats to bring my shoulder down in my back pockets. I look forward to doing this one more!

@@essentricsworkout I think it would be helpful if a full length episode was up. It would give a chance for people to try it over a period of time. Once they see what amazing results they can get, they will probably be bored of the one video and will explore their other options via DVDS or a monthly subscription. I think it's a winning situation for everyone.

What do you think would be the cause of pain in the shoulder (anterior) when reaching down towards the ground?
@essentricsworkout Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Please keep in mind that although our technique is very therapeutic, we are not doctors and cannot provide any medical advice. The cause of this kind of pain can be challenging to pinpoint and you will need to consult a physician you trust to rule out any underlying conditions or injury. That being said, these gentle movements should help relieve the pain! Try to do the movement to the point before the pain starts; as soon as you feel the tension or slight pain in that area, try to relax and slowly go back to the point before the pain and continue with the movements with that smaller range. If the pain occurs when you add tension, keep the movement relaxed, and think about pushing on clouds. Over time, you should gradually be able to increase the range of the movement and the tension without pain. Hope this helps! 🤗

Love it, but have a question. What is the reason for doing this exercise so slow and relaxed? It's quite different from the upper body workout I just did with Sahra on another video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp6lpalriZx9eKc#t=26.477094 Thank you.
@essentricsworkout7 жыл бұрын
great question! This style of workout is designed for people with tight upper back and shoulder pain. If they are in pain, their muscles are probably having difficulty relaxing and letting go of contraction- so the other style of workout might be too intense for them for now. Once the pain and tension is gone, they will be able to effectively lengthen their muscles and focus on the more strengthening/lengthening techniques. If you are interested in the science behind this, Forever Painless by Miranda Esmonde-White gives a thorough explanation in regards to what's happening with connective tissue and muscle imbalances.

I just gotta say as a former fitness instructor...please, please, please, you need to take more care in demonstrating proper form in the form of turning sideways and even turning to face the back wall to include close-ups of your movements. Repetitive improper form is to be avoided and the camera crew/person needs to be mobile at least in the beginning of each exercise. It's difficult to watch this poor demonstration of form.

Thank you for your feedback Ann! Excellent point- this is just a quick release for KZbin. On our online streaming we always edit the film to show different angles to properly demonstrate alignment. But thank you for pointing out the importance of doing this for our KZbin videos as well.

I suffer from shoulder pain and found this to be a great video. It is simple and easy to follow and having done many fitness classes, I see no need for complicated camera angles because the verbal cues are perfect. Because the movements present such a low risk of injury and such great benefits, I think it is great as it is. The lighting is perfect and I had no trouble at all following the instructor on my computer screen. She even turns around to explain how to drop the shoulder blade into "one's pocket". Great instruction. It convinced me to sign up for an Essentrics class and perphaps cancel my next doctor's appointment for a painful and largely ineffective injection of pain medication.
