I take advantage of either grocery delivery or curb side pickup. I've found that if I stay out of the grocery store, I don't feel tempted to get extra things. And I ALWAYS order from a list. Great tips and reminders of things I can do to help myself!

Staying away from ALLLL debt at all cost is keeping me wealthy. ✌🏾 including CREDIT CARDS 🥰
@aleciahall84202 ай бұрын
Staying away from credit is not a way to build wealth. Nobody who is wealthy is not afraid of credit. On the contrary u can utilize credit but make sure u have insurance that exceeds any credit that u own. Liquid cash in the bank is useless if u r not trading or investing..

I agree completely. I’m out of debt. Luckily, I never used a credit card. I’ve only used a debit card. Once you start talking about credit cards, I’m out. I love having money. Cash is king.

Credit is not necessarily useless. Sometimes it's to your advantage to use credit instead of cash. I like to take advantage of the points and make sure to pay the whol balance before the statement date to avoid paying interest. If used properly, credit is awesome.

Love that 72 hour rule. I have found that just going home to think and discuss big purchases works wonders. One of my tools is not being afraid to be the odd one out. Social pressure to spend can be enormous and while some people are spending without stress many are not and if no one speaks up and is willing to stand out everyone continues to pile on debt. You do not have to let othet people spend the money you earn. It is OK to opt out of a trip you cannot afford. Thank you Dr. Nina for sharing these practical money management tips.💜💜💜💜

I BUDGET and carry NO DEBT!!! I'm older (GenX) and use CASH! I do some bills on auto pay. But, some utility co. double dip...ugh! I negotiate costs with cell, internet, insurance companies every 6-12mths. I cook vs eating out. Roof secure and wheels (paid for) stay rollin.❤😂

Thank you so much for sharing! 🤗 I also don't pay full price for anything. My internet was over $90 a month 😱... I called Spectrum and it's now $36.99. And I saved even more by cancelling my Amazon and Walmart memberships.

I love your content. Thank you for these suggestions. I want to go back to school to obtain my degree in Education. I have 10 classes to complete. I enrolled last semester and both online courses were confusing and hard to navigate. I dropped them both. I’m 51 and don’t want to have to go to campus for classes. Any suggestions?

Hi Dr. Nina, thank you for this post. I'm from Africa and sometimes am invited to join a WhatsApp group to contribute towards someone's wedding, funeral, or medical expenses. Sometimes, it's hard to say no to friends or relatives. What percentage can I set aside for these contributions, especially if I am invited to more than one group?
@TheAmerEthioQueen2 ай бұрын
Maybe talk to a financial advisor. I understand that you want to help, but if it’s hurting your current or future plans for your life as you’re trying to figure out how to do it, then how are you able to contribute. I know it’s part of our culture and we need to definitely support, but life over here is a lot more expensive and you have to consider your future. If something happens, how will it be taken care of if many of your extra funds are consumed by ppl needing money for weddings. Maybe set a small budget and once it’s done, you can’t give, but only if your future can sustain that. I’m speaking from experience from supporting family over 30 years and has destroyed my finances. Good luck. 🙏🏾
