Splendid video as always Chris!!! When setting a preference regarding "On Processing Shared Clips", some folks might prefer another option listed which is "Create New Version". This way, you always and automatically get a new version of the audio part, and can start going at it independently if you don't need the option.

Great video lots of info. Thank you. I have a problem when using my asm hydra synth in cubase. When I send a program change. The preset will change as it should. But once I stop or rewind cubase. My hydra resets back to preset number 1. I have tried everything I can think of in setting and midi filter but nothing seems to help. I have also tried those in ableton and everything is fine. Is this a bug or an I missing something. None of my other hardware synths do this. They keep the preset I choose on the inspector or via a program change.

Excellent video! As always, you showed me a few things I didn't know. Two questions, if I may... First: I am not near my music computer at the moment so I can't try it yet, but when creating custom folders, can I change the order the folders are listed in after creating them? Second: What is that light on he left side of the screen when the video starts? Is it just a light or does it serve some other purpose; decorative, perhaps? Also, it looks like there is another one on top of what looks like an analog 16-track recorder in the background on the right. Where can I get one? That's three questions, I guess. Thanks.
@mixdownonline4 жыл бұрын
Hey Robin, 1. Yes you can 2. It's all for the looks ;-) 3. That's a Tascam 85-16B that is not mine and not working yet. It adds a nice look to my videos though...Lol You can find those on ebay or reverb.com
@robingraham15854 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I checked both sites and couldn't find the light. All my search terms either turned up nothing or turned up thousands of lights, but not the one in your video. Does it have a name? Or is there a manufacturer/s name?

Possible silly question: When gain staging, is it the same result to use the gain in the "Pre" rack than it is to use a gain plugin as an insert?
@mixdownonline4 жыл бұрын
It is in a way, yes. Using Clip Gain or the Pre Gain will affect the signal before the Insert Plugins. The Gain Plugin will affect the signal going in the following plugins. So if your Gain plugin is the first plugin in your Inserts, it will do the job.

It is not really ripple delete is it? I use ripple delete in premiere pro when I've got, for example, a drone vid recording of 5 minutes, take out the scenes that i don't want and be left with a couple of clips with nothing in between. I select everything and choose ripple delete and it delete's all time between the clips. So for my Cubase when i work with podcast i get a revision with time stamps. I cannot use the method that you showed in the video cause the the time stamps given to me wont match the project anymore. I cut out all the parts given to me in the revision and i am left, like my example of the drone video, with clips of audio with nothing in between. Is there an option to just delete the time between the clips so it all snaps back together? Now i have to select all the clips, move them forward myself which is really time consuming. Sometimes aim working with more than 50 cuts in my audio. Anyway thanks for the tips man, good vid!

Hi Chris, I have a quick question that I wonder if you have ever had this same issue. For some reason quite often i will compose with hallion sonic se, and notice all my sounds only coming from my left monitor, when I open the instrument I see within there it s panned hard left, when I move it back centre within hallion it automatically switches back 2 hard left, not sure if this is some kind of bug. But it is definitely infuriating and definitely not an automation issue, many thanks if u have ever come across this problem and know of a fix,, cheers lenni, ps version cubase pron10.5 user ✌

Having your channel in Pan Read Automation mode would be the problem but no, never saw that before, sorry!
@lenny6024 жыл бұрын
@@mixdownonline thanks chris.. but no my friend sadly there is no automation being written or read. The pan pot stays centre , it's the actual pan slider on the instrument. Probably some type of bug, thanks for the reply I've learned alot about cubase over the years through your channel ✌

hi, chris. i just found a better solution for rename selected track. and it is REAL rename. just click on selected audio track and then click ctrl+B (it is shortuct for project---open browser______on windows. on mac i dont know the shortcut). in this menu you can change the name of audio track absolutely. you cant have two same names like bass and in next part bass again. you can write for example bass verse 1 than bass chorus, than bass verse 2 and so on. but i think it is ok. bye and thank you very much for your helpful videos!
