My ZV4-12s are being run on a DC 7.5k @ half ohm. People say it’s too much power and I should get a 5k. I laugh at them and say I’d put the pair on 12k if I could. Oh well..

people don't realize you can turn the bass all the way off on your head unit.. the amplifier WILL give the sub all the bass it needs, u just gotta turn the head unit volume up, then match the gain on the amp

That setup has to have ridiculous rise to be running a 7500 at .5 on a Zv.5. Unless they just aren't telling you they are custom coiled Zv.5's and not stock hardware. ;-)

Sundown “rms” ratings are free air ratings. My buddy has 8 zv5 18s in a 6 door suburban and he has 4 taramps 10k with 8 d3100s and 4 mechman 370 alts and they want more. People don’t understand, these subwoofers can easily take around 6,000-8,000 watts all day on clean on unclipped power.

That damn near made my wiener pop a wheelie,holy dong apples.Ive been bangin sundown subs for a few years now,on a foodstamp level compared to this but none the less i'll never buy another brand as long as sundowns in business.I went from mtx9500 to JLw7 to dd9500 to xv1 to xv2 and zv5 next.I know theres alot of up and coming brands that people will say are just as good if not better than sundown and everyones entitled to their opinion but as a personal preference sundown will always be the one for me.Good job guys!

Beer man, the Jl w7 were sq the xv1 xv2 and zv5 are all mid level sundown subs and the 9500 series subs can be used competitively but not really considered spl woofers.All of which will perform well on a clean 1,500 to 2,000 watts a piece.
