Thank you for talking about sun damage not just as a cosmetic issue but as a potential threat to your life. I lost my brother to melanoma and no one should have to suffer like that. Protect yourself and protect the kids you love. ❤

Thank you for this video. The part about your grandma was very touching. My grandparents passed 4 years ago and the last 2-3 years before that, had been mostly about them beeing comfortable and enjoying what they liked. I hope you'll enjoy the time you have left with her ❤

Your annual Dermatology is so important. I religiously put on SPF and have good skin care habits and I still developed a K and didn’t even notice it until my annual Dermatology appointment pointed out. One was so bad I had to have it cut out twice. They were so tiny. I never would’ve noticed them. Have your checkups!

I have a sun allergy and I pretty much just don't go out into the sun if I can help it. It really does impact one's life in a profound way. When I do go out into the sun, I am fully covered, have a big floppy hat, slather myself in sunscreen and hope it's enough. My allergic reaction is often pretty immediate and can take a few days to recover from. Thankfully it's not so serious as anaphylaxis, but I still would rather not have any reaction at all. It turns out a medication I'm on has caused the problem, and I can't really go off the meds or even change them (we tried, it didn't go well), and I was told even if I did go off them, the allergy likely would not go away.

A truly enlightening video, brimming with a wealth of knowledge. With such abundant wisdom at our disposal, there exist scarcely any justifications for individuals to remain ignorant regarding the significance of donning sunscreen. The sun, an emblem of vitality and magnificence, bears a profound truth- that beauty often carries a concealed cost. Regrettably, by the time we discern its toll, it is often too late, and we, mere mortals, bear the weighty consequences of our sunlit dalliances. Despite this awareness, many persist in their reluctance to embrace ample safeguards, defying the logical path to preserve their well-being.

I use Agency, and Curology before that. Their Future Formula with tretinoin is really effective and makes my skin look much better. I use their Dark Spot formula with hydroquinone, but my melasma and sun damage has been there a long time and it is very stubborn. I wear a hat and sunscreen daily.

They were probably better protected by the ozone layer prior to the industrial revolution. For another, it is normal in rural Africa to stay out of direct sunlight between about 10am to 4:30pm. The culture is to go to their farms or go fishing really early in the morning (5am) and be done by 10am. Any other jobs are generally done in the shade. So there's traditionally a lot of sun avoidance. I'm sure there are other reasons as well.

Yeahhhh, soo unfortunately my sun allergy appeared exactly on my graduation party day. It was the first fully sunny day in May and I have always put sunscreen on my face but I don't like putting it on my body when I am not at the beach as it is quite sticky, so I put sunscreen as usual only on my face and like 4 hours into the day my SKIN WAS BURNING it was also freaking SCRATCHY and it was like TOMATO RED 😭😭😭 on my graduation day in half of the pictures. Ever since then I don't leave my house without a sunscreen bottle in my bag. Put on your sunscreen as you might figure out you have developed sun allergy on one of the most important days of your life.
