I struggle with the constructive criticism one, not because I get mad at people when they do it, I just feel bad about myself and the mistake I made when someone points it out. I tend to come down harder on myself than other people do on me. I have very high expectations for myself, and if I make something I’m proud of and somebody criticizes it, then I’ll feel less proud of it. I’m trying to work on this, but that’s easier said than done.

@@SarahAbramova I know that. But when I hear someone say it (however, it depends on the tone of voice they use. But on the internet it’s really hard to tell what emotion someone is feeling based off a text), a lot of the times I take that and I will apply it, but then I’ll begin to beat myself up over the mistake I made, even if it’s small. I take great joy in creating (this mostly applies to the stories I write), and when I’m proud of something, it’s hard for me to hear somebody say “This is great, but…” because then I feel a little less proud of it, because a lot of times, I’ll see they’re right and then change the whole thing. Like I said, I’m trying my best to work on this and to tell myself not to be so harsh on myself because that’s the whole problem. But it’s easier said than done. I feel I have gotten better at it, but there’s still room for improvement.

@@Rosebud076 Try remembering that everyone famous has critiques, no one is perfect, people can disagree, and a lot of people have editors. Also, I remember hearing about an editor that changed all the "pants" into "trousers" and accidentally sent it to print with "occupants" becoming "occutrousers". We make a lot of mistakes as humans.

Welp, I resonate with all of this except the critisism thing ;w; I feel like now that I've been a creator for over 2 years, I've learned to take critisism fairly well. I can pretty easily tell when somebody's giving me *actual* advice that I can improve my work upon, and when somebody's just being flat out rude. Whenever I'm riding in my parent's car (I never learned how to drive), there are certain kinds of songs that I can't listen to on the radio, otherwise I'll start crying my eyes out. I feel like if I let the sad song play, some random driver might see me crying in the back seat and mistakenly think I need help, when in reality it was just because a tear-jerking ballad was playing on the radio. 😅 Specific songs include: I Will Remember You by Sarah Mclachlan, Tears In Heaven by Eric Claptan, You're The Inspiration by Chicago (anyone whose played Elite Beat Agents can relate. like me), and pretty much any Love Ballad, Power Ballad or Sad Breakup Song that is commonly known to make people cry.
