Not all hunting is recreational, that is just plain ignorant statement. Hunters have seasons when they are allowed to hunt certain species and this is really important in areas where there is no natural enemy to this animal. That way, hunters keep their number in check. The mindset that every hunting is bad has been proven wrong in EU where it is forbidden to hunt wolves. Nowadays in certain parts of EU their numbers have grown too large and they are attacking villages.

Thanks for the laughs. I honestly never imagined someone would ever think of making a double toilet omg lol. On another note Vivien: I’ve never hunted by any means and I’d never hunt just for sport and fun. But can I argue that we most certainly desensitize ourselves when we buy meat from the market? Cause I’d argue that as much as I don’t want to slaughter an animal, I’d most certainly appreciate and respect that food source even more if I did. Especially considering the meat we buy could be from an animal that’s lived through pretty bad living conditions. We don’t see the animal getting slaughtered and it’s pretty convenient for us not to think about what happened to the life that was taken. So please consider not everyone would hunt for recreational reasons…at least I wouldn’t. I definitely agree taxodermy is weird though and hunting for sport is terrible unless it’s used for balancing ecosystems.

Came here to say the same thing! Hunting could absolutely serve a real purpose when done responsibly. Chances are also that meat from hunted game is more healthy for us, since the animal hasn’t been brought up for slaughter with all the stress and unnecessary medicine that usually comes with it. There are, of course, many responsible farmers out there who treat their livestock with the most love and care, bringing up healthy and happy animals. But many also don’t, resulting in elevated stress hormones and foreceeding them unnecessary antibiotics or other medicine which we, the consumer, then eat.

sorry, but when you say, that 'hunting in the 21st century is just unnecessary', you're simply wrong. since the extinction or massive reduction of great predators (by humans) in many ecosystems, there is an imbalance, that causes an overpopulation of plant eating game (e.g. deer). because they have no natural enemy anymore, they are a huge threat to the ecosystem they live in, because they are eating too much of it and can destroy it, in the end causing its collaps and also the extinction or displacement of everything that lives in it. that's why there are forest rangers and nature authorities, which give out a certain amount of hunting permits in their area or are responsible themselves for putting out the right amount of a population of a certain species. responsible hunting is actually necessary to sustain fragile ecosystems. that being said, i really don't like hunting/ killing animals myself and would never put any taxidermy in my home.

I hate hunting and taxidermies give me nightmares. But as someone who values truth I got to correct you. Hunting is very necessary from a scientific and preservation stand point. Deer for example over populate really fast. I live in a state where last year they had to give out extra deer permits because the over population was actually causing mass disease. Hunting is regulated by wild life scientists and game wardens very strictly. So much so that hunters could loose all their guns forever. If you know any hunters that’s like taking a pacifier from babies. To conclude this the number one donors to protect national parks, forests, and wild life are actually hunters. I know I was shocked when I found that out too.

First thing was to remove the disgusting carpet and guess what... full of mold under it in the concrete and it spread all over the kitchen wall behind the cabinets... The solution should be remove the concrete and it would coast a LOT and we don't have money for it... My life became a nightmare and never was the same again... We found some temporary solutions to at least live here but.... unless we win a lotery there is no way to solve the problem for someone that had the most stupid idea ever and for the idiot that bought the idea.

Hunting is actually a great way to feed your family in a lot of areas. While I don’t personally enjoy meat I know those that do. You can take home a whole deer and feed your family for a year or buy ground beef from store. One is organic, free range and humanly killed and the other is tortured almost their whole life and packed full of nasty stuff, not to mention it’s expensive. So don’t be to quick to judge those that hunt.

I totally agree, taxidermied animals used for display in the home are a very disturbing vision, particularly so when they were hunted only for display purposes to begin with. Deer, on the other hand, invariably need to be culled by hunters in order to keep their numbers in the proper range to reduce the likelihood of their starving to death in winter - a horrendous suffering that is much crueler than a hunter's relatively quick kill. Packs of wolves historically handled this vital role but they are essentially no longer on the scene so humans have taken up the responsibility. I know people who use venison as their primary source of meat protein - plus since it comes from an animal in the wild, it is leaner & healthier than beef.

You showed up in my feed recently so of course I clicked and now have subscribed. I remember carpeted kitchens and bathrooms from my childhood - my earliest memory of a carpeted kitchen dates to the late 1960s. My 10-year-old self knew it was a bad idea, but the family friend who'd just done it was so very pleased with everything. Well, it was new. It got ripped out two or three years later. Another family friend had carpeted the bathroom around the same time, and that got ripped out even faster. I really want neutral *everything* to go away. There has always been a place for neutrals, but when I make plans to refurbish my 90-year-old house I want *colour.* The kitchen and bathrooms of my house were updated around 25 years ago, and they look pretty damned dull to my eyes. I'm awaiting the return of plain, square bathroom tile in various colours so I can "update" those rooms and make them look period adjacent. I may wait forever from the look of things.

Another thing about carpeted bathrooms is uh...some people's tendency to "miss the target". My family has a shared vacation home, and when they built it the guys decided carpet in a bathroom shared by >8 guys would be a good idea. 20 years later when they remodel and put in tile, omg 🤦‍♀. They were shocked - horrified even - at what they found under the carpet by the toilet. All us ladyfolk (ie the bathroom cleaners) were like 😒💅 when they just would not shut up about "wHeRE DiD aLL tHIs gRoSs sTUfF cOmE fRoM!?!?!?!". Look in the mirror dudes lol

Some areas also have hunting or allow hunting, sometimes year round, as a means to control overpopulation of some wildlife. Since we change the predator/prey balance in areas we inhabit, some species have been reproducing unchecked and can become problems. I’m with you though, I’m not a fan of it (I work in veterinary medicine and the only shots I take are in video games) but in some places there is an actual need or reason for it.

I just have to say something about the taxidermy, because my husband has it and I was hoping you would show it more tastefully done. That is his passion and I believe incorporating what he loves in our home is just as important as putting what I like into it. Also, he doesn’t hunt just for sport. His kills feed our family for the year. We process all the meat ourselves and it is a lot healthier (and probably more humane) than the meat you buy in the grocery store (we do the same with fish). He doesn’t mount everything he kills. The especially big kills with the huge horns are usually what people are proud of. Killing something that magnificent with a bow is quite special. Maybe this helps to see our families point of view. I’m still trying to figure out where to put them so they look great in our new home 🤔

My mom worked in a slaughter house when I was a teen and I stopped eating meat because of the stories she'd have when she came home. This meant a lot more money went towards groceries which was something we really couldn't afford. When I met my partner he was hunter, he grew up hunting with his father and uncle, and after learning a lot more about hunting I can say it is WAY more humane and healthier than what can be bought at the store. On top of that if we were to eat meat from the grocery store it would cost over double what we spend on his licenses and gas even on the years were he doesn't do well. Using all the parts of an animal is the only way to do it in my opinion. We have some taxidermy, mostly bones and antlers on display and while a lot of it was from his hunting I have also picked up skulls or antlers while hiking. We display them because we love nature in all its forms and nature isn't just pretty flowers and cute animals. Even if taxidermy isn't everyone's taste to say that isn't art is crap. I'm not a fan of most modern art but that doesn't mean its not art. I understand its not her taste but, to hear her say its not art makes me angry. The people who do taxidermy are like any other artist some are better at it than others but it takes skills and training.

Totally agree! Especially about dead animals. Since when "killing animals" is art?

Carpet in the kitchen: I wouldn´t believe that anybody would do it, if I hadn´t bought an apartment, where they had it - the moment I saw it I thought this must be the first thing to be removed as soon as I can. They had the carpet also in the pantry and also on the shelves in the pantry. And guess what: there was a lot of mould under it and was as disgusting as one can imagine (incl. the smell). They had there also a colourful toilet cover and a toilet rug, stickers on walls, etc. too. A place full of style :-)

This video is so funny 😁 😂. The carpeted kitchens and bathrooms are so wrong, disgusting and gross! Taxidermy is utterly disturbing 😳. Just a quick tip, if you're in the market to sell your house- Taxidermy is something that can negatively influence prospective home buyers. Thanks for the video and laughs!

I have a carpeted kitchen and it's the absolute worst! I had to buy a carpet cleaner and I use it all the dang time...not fun. I have kids and pets. I've pulled the corner up praying to find something better but there's even more horrifying... linoleum and I mean multiple layers of linoleum! 😏 It looks extremely old and I haven't tested it for asbestos yet. I can't wait until I've saved up enough for hardwood.

just the other day I was discussing some ideas about house with my husband, and he is a fan of open space. So my argue was "don't mind, however NOT a bathroom/toilet!" He was: "is this even a thing? how that could be?" Well, he was very surprised that someone can do that :D
