You can take the animals out of the wild but not the wild out of the animals... it's not surprising that they react especially when they are stressed and forced to be in a very unnatural environment. I love animals but I appreciate viewing them from their natural environments. I understand taking them out of that environment to save them but trying to train them and expect them to forget their instincts is just not typical.

I haven't been to a Zoo since I was 10 years old and saw a bear that looked sad and distressed in Madrid. The image of that bear has haunted me for 50 years. I also stopped going to any live animal circus in the early 80s and the last one I let my daughter go to was when she was about 4 in 1986. The same goes for any type of Sea World where there are Killer whales and dolphins.

that happened to me when i was 7, i saw a polar bear in Calgary in the summer and it was so hot the poor thing looked almost dead..i never took my children to the zoo or a circus

I live near the original location of Marine World (that location is now Oracle headquarters. ) . I could hear the lions at feeding time from a mile away. They also had a water-skiing elephant. I would think of the trainers and animals as best friends. Then, I found out different.

Circuses are actually abusive! The only way to get a wild animal to do a trick is to force them to do it (Like bullhooks, electric prods, and ropes!!!) This is cruel!!! You try being locked in a dirty crowded cage never being able to run or play, forced to preform stupid acts and its likely that the trainers wont care about your health or vet bills! Wild animals belong in the wild and if your keeping them in captivity at least provide them a happy life!

When I was little my dad took me to the circus were I rode on a elephant....I was scared shitless...yet also excited...I was like 7 at the time....when you're little like that you don't really realize how bad the animals had it....

Circuses should be banned, and so should any other facility that keeps wild animals to be treated as side shows. I appreciate that some wildlife are in 'captivity' to protect them from being extinct, and that's a good thing, but for any other reason it's cruel and totally unnecessary.

My family & I have refused to go to any circus that keeps animals so we have not been to a circus in about 20 years. We believe it's cruel to the animals to keep them living in tiny cramped cages or chained up. The whips etc used to control the animals to perform are unacceptable and as such we do not support any circus or organization that mistreats animals in any way, shape or form.

All of these circuses should be Banned completely outlawed. If you go to one you know exactly what you're supporting and that is the abuse of those animals period. Although it is great to hear that there is action being taken against these places and the animals are being taking to sanctuaries to live out the rest of their days.🙂

I am a hunter, fisherman. I do this because I like to be dependent and not eat government poisoned food. Torturing animals is wrong. If you want to see these creatures, go on a safari. 4:29 wow, that's kind of surprisingly awkward. I just seen a video about the elephant being downstairs, with a chain it's back right foot. It looked sad and tired. That video was taken January 29th, which was last week. The thing about it, the circus was here in Fort Wayne Indiana last week, and then I come looking on KZbin for circus failures or whatever, and came up to this one. Not knowing that, I moved to Fort Wayne in fall of 2005, the circus always comes in January of each year.

I've been to a circus once i was probably 3ys old didn't like it. I've always worked with animals and think those type of things are so very cruel. The animals can't do or be what they are meant to especially elephants! Same with the Orcas. I'm no tree hugger but anyone can see the cruelty being done.

Yeah I'm truly surprised that Siegfried and Roy was even allowed to perform. I mean come on every single show they brought a deadly animal out with no protection whatsoever between the deadly animal and the audience. Those two cats could have killed 5 to 10 people each show. I never understood why a single person ever went to go see that. Why not just pay a few hundred dollars for someone to put you in a cage with a lion. And win you're very first and last Darwin award

I hate circuses/zoos. And I have two cats my daughter has a bearded dragon, leopard gecko, 3 hamsters and a rabbit and I seriously think animals shouldn’t be pets. They should have a natural habitat/ life. Ok cats and dogs are domesticated a little more. But I feel guilty everyday now I understand a bit more.

A the siegfried and roy show was not a circus it was a standing room only stage spectacular. And roy horn suffered. A mamoth stroke mantacor did not kill him he. Was trying to save roy horns life period !
