This was great! I discovered your channel today after my boyfriend gifted me a massage gun for dealing with chronic hip and low back pain caused by my hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction. This video and the massage fun/ stretching video for hips seemed to help a lot! Do you have any other recommendations for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction?

Yes, Sasha! I have a physical therapist in my office named, Tim Sawyer PT. He could quite easily be the best in the world at treating pelvic pain. He is published and wrote the trigger point manual in Simons and Travels book on trigger points in the pelvic floor. We even see CEOs coming in to our office that have to catheterize themselves to go to the bathroom. Come to California or go to a pelvic floor PT that does internal work. Stress is a BIG component. Pray, meditate, get in nature, forgive others and yourself, etc... It's a bit of a road back but you can do it.

Thanks for suggesting these exercises and my hips feel great after doing it. . In the 90-90 position, I noticed that my left leg is difficult to raise when its in the front but easy to raise when its in the rear position. In my right leg , the exact opposite is true.

Do you have any suggestions on figuring out how to activate the front leg raises? I had to use my hand to lift my foot, I couldn't seem to figure out which muscle to flex.

Start seated with your knees at 90 degrees and life your legs. A good progression to psoas engagement. You may do some massage on your hip flexors also(see my videos with Theracane and with lacrosse ball)

I have Arthritis in both my hip joints affecting femoral head seating in the Acetabulum capsule. I have followed your previous 90/90 video and unfortunately, the next two days my hips are very uncomfortable indeed. Only wish I could follow this approach.

Hi Colin, Thanks for your input. Let's see if you can start with the beginner and the massage gun videos. Also, try to find someone in your area that does ESWT on the hips. They have to have a machine that goes deep. It makes a world of difference. In addition, some traction using an inversion traction table with one leg at around 20° should be good. Yes, In the beginning, you just think about it moving ; ) Really lean over to the side to make it easier and, gradually, you will be able to become more upright and lift that foot. Enjoy the challenge.
