90-93 Accord Tie Rod Ends (Inner and Outer)

1991 Honda Accord Inner and Outer tie rod ends replacement. This applies to the 90-93 Accord. These tie rod ends ares super loose and have busted boots and bellows. I replaced all four tie rod ends and the boots/bellows as well. I will put the Moog equivalent boot/bellow kit below on amazon (which is a little cheaper) below along with the tie rod ends as well. I will put the part numbers I used also for anyone wanting them.

Time to remove outer tie rod: 5m Time lock washer tabs 10m Time to remove inner tie rod 5m Time to reinstall inner tie rod boot 1 hour Lmao

Instead of using a crows foot could you also use a nut and jam nut to just wrench the inner tie rod off from the end?

Yeah that would work too. I never thought about doing it that way. That's a good idea, I may have to try that next time.

Hey fellow Accordians, I have a 91 EX and I just can't diagnose the overheating. My coolant levels are fine and about 15-20 minutes of driving, i get a burnt oil smell and my oil light comes on. I dont have a/c so could maybe fixing all the a/c problems prevent that? Forgive me if any of this sounds laughable for I am not mechanic savvy

I am guessing you checked for any leaks already. I would let it come up to temp and check to see if both radiator hoses are hot. If they are not both hot then you may have a bad thermostat

what is the spec. torque wrench for the tie rod nut? Thanks.

The tie rod nuts torque to 33 lb ft (45 nm) and when attaching the tie rod to the steering rack it torques to 41 lb ft (55nm)

They are masterpro brand which is the oreilly store brand. But that part number will work on Moog brand as well.

Is the inner tie rod same on both sides and do I need to order 2 inner tie rods or just one? What all do I need to fix the inner tie rod

The inner is the same on both sides so you need to get two inner tie rods but you have to remove the outer ones off of the inner tie rods.

@@operationoverhaul how would I know if the inner tie rods need replacing as well? Tie rod ends on my car have busted boots too, and I hear a knocking driving down the road. Sometimes it’s there, other times it drives fine. But since noticing the issue it sound a lot worse. I went ahead and ordered a kit on eBay motors, but I don’t have all the tools needed to get the boot off the inner tie rod. That’s the only thing I’m gonna struggle with I think. As well as control arms maybe. I got a kit that included those, so imma replace those too since that was on my list on things to work on in the future.

@@hypegamer02 if you shake the tire on the front and rear of the tire it will move in and out of the wheel well. The knocking could be the arms as well
