Writing from the prairies in Canada. Fall is here now with breathtaking yellow trees dominating the landscape. Should be creating art, but instead we must harvest our beautiful garden that has been so generous to us this year. That is okay, i can scheme while i work. And live vicariously through your lovely videos, which i save like a little bag of candy. A treat that i savour, and wait to open, until i can fully enjoy! You have been so generous to us strangers, and brought a much needed sense of peace, calm and joy. Every other week is more than i can hope for, each video is a gift. I love your book, and the music you create, and your little boy’s voice in the introduction. I always hope for a bike ride home, the windmill at dusk, the far off lights twinkling. Your optimistic and wise words. I notice it all. You are so talented. Thank you for making this world a better place.

Unfortunately there’s only so much time in the day. This is why l like ´daylight saving’. I will look forward to seeing your video every second week, which is good for me as well as l have cleaning and packing to do before we go on the market. You have inspired me to make ´in studio’ videos of me working. Watching you made me think that you don’t have to talk through the work process, which has put me off doing videos myself. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your studio time. 👏🏻

Very nice Titus. I just had a feeling that the bikes were coming. The touch of cool red is nice too. I compared DS Quin rose with other companies some years ago and found that it had a dull drying shift when compared to Qor Quin red ( same pigment) and Sennelier’s same pigment. I use some bright colors and pick and choose between brands as many do. The houses certainly are very tall as well as the trees. The owner will be very happy with the result. There are many things on your videos that viewers can learn by watching other artists. One thing is that, well on my part I don’t usually throw away my brushes. When making marks representing trees some use the same brush that makes the same marks like a round brush for example so I just wanted to point it out for others that yes there are brushes that one can purchase to make a variety and also it always has been a “thing” to make what usually are referred to as “ugly brushes “ to bring out different marks because leaves don’t look all the same. I don’t know how many viewers are endeavoring to learn to paint or are artists and it would be interesting to know statistically. Another week has gone by so fast. It is very good news to be busy, work is work, pays the bills and brings a sense of accomplishment on a job well done.😊

Wonderful video, as usual. Your choice to have the camera right on the painting, and then off to the side where the focus is on you working really succeeds in setting your videos apart. They're incredibly interesting to watch, as well as being so peaceful. Speaking of which, my only suggestion is that you yell "WAKE UP" near the end so everyone can hear your closing comments.

Hahaha no I won’t wake you up. The commercials will do

Haha I have fallen asleep before in his videos, they are so relaxing. I wake up and then go back and watch it again from where I fell asleep.

I will miss my weekly fix, but you need to breath a bit. So do not worry about us. We will survive. Take all the time you need to create what you need to create. It is understandable that you are getting more and more busy after almost 2 years of weekly video's. Yes, 2 years!!! Yikes!!!

I see that you don't have time to comment and make videos like before, so I wish you all the best, and most importantly, no stress! :)

Hi Titus, thanks once again for a great video. Your effort to share your experience is much appreciated! I was wondering, you live quite the distance from your atelier (45mins or so?). Most artists I know, live either in- or close by their atelier. I was wondering if you enjoy the separation of work and home? And if the travel time doesn't get in the way? In short: is this situation a positive or a negative for you and how did it come to be? I'd love to have a real space to work on my paintings but would be hesitant to have too much separation/ travel time. Because painting is still a hobby for me, the more travel time from couch to easel, the more I would expect it becomes a hurdle to me. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks! PS good luck with the other series.

Hi Mike! I live more than 45 minutes from my studio which is actually far away. We used to live around the corner but we moved to a nice farm when we got children. Later we moved to an old town and that’s even further away. I use my time as good as possible between home and studio. Sometimes I take my car, but mostly I take the bycicle and train

@@TitusMeeuws Sounds like you are making the best of it but it is not maybe the most ideal situation? For now, I'll keep painting from my corner behind the dinner table in the living room. Still though, my own place seems soooooo appealing. Just not >45mins away.
