"Read a good book, watch good movies and listen to good music; these are the only things that matter". Weird how those words struck a chord in me and got me thinking. Do I agree and is it true? Well that fact that they made impact, I guess mean that I agree. And I guess the reason is because they all make you 'feel'. Just as good art can. So I'd like to add to the list of good things: go to a museum or art gallery and look at good art! Thanks for once again a lovely video. Looking forward to seeing more about the planned move and art gallery!

As I watch you work on the weigh house, I find myself smiling because it reminds me of those few moments when working on a piece, I want to stop a moment and celebrate (yes, with my hands raised in joyful glee) the fact that it is all coming together even better than I had planned! Hazzah!

Titus, How lovely it was to be able to see you opening my gift to you! That was so kind of you to share and absolutely priceless! As I mentioned, the mugs are a very small token of appreciation for the valuable content you provide. I appreciate your personal thank you. You are most welcome! Thank you for your openness, for sharing your process, thoughts, skill and studio space. It takes a great deal of hard work and diligence. I so enjoyed hearing you say, “My Gallery” and pondering plans! Awesome! You’re living the dream! I wish you and your family all the best in the coming year (and far beyond!). I can't wait to see where this journey takes you! Happy New Year! Warm regards Miriam

I really like the chosen colors. The contrast of the blue with the yellow-brown of the ground and the red wink of the shutters really capture the atmosphere of the work. Magnificent, Titus. I wish you a year 2025 of creativity, culture and curiosity, without forgetting health, love and friendship for you and your family.

Happy New Year Titus. When you put the gouda house on the big easel I really liked the ghostly look of the painting !

A tip for you maybe you could put some soap on the box on your easel makes it slide much easier for sticky drawers. Your cheese is fermented. Fermented is much better for our little tummies.

I really like this one Titus! It’s not dark, it’s a happy painting. I had spent a bit this year on myself, a bit or a lot of my favorite paper because it is a pain to pre stretch it when the “super soakers “ just handle so many layers. Most here in the states mispronounce Gouda cheese and instead of pronouncing it like the word go it is pronounced goo. Sounds like you have some great goals this year. You have some new mugs that are dear. You might need some real coffee, I get it from friends in South America that grow their own and hand roast it in a ground kiln perfectly. It’s potent like a shot but top rated along with 3 places. 2025’s energy drink. By the way it is their custom to share one mug with their visitors and to refuse would cause a cultural offense much like mispronouncing Gouda😂. Stay healthy and I will try likewise, great painting.

Hi Titus, love your art. I notice you don't pre- stretch the paper before painting, yet the finished piece is always so lovely and flat ???
@ninner19614 күн бұрын
No need to stretch 640gsm or 300lb watercolor paper, I call them super soakers. Some don’t stretch 120lb. To each their own. Only one time I got 640lb gsm paper to very slightly bend and it costs more but takes as many layers as you want. Otherwise if I run short then I do stretch the other weight personally because I am impatient and charge the wash until I am satisfied and stretching it will help with layering/ glazing successfully and evenly. I don’t personally know anyone who stretches the 640gsm other than the hot pressed for hyper realistic detailed sketching, one person. One thing about the heavier paper is that it really can dry fast and if one is doing a large background for example in one color then it really has to be wet or it will streak.😊
@TitusMeeuws14 күн бұрын
Hi Mike, like Ninner says, 640 gms paper is amazing. It feels like painting on wood. No need to stretch, it's strong enough!

Question titus what your opoion on stenicls art do you think it cheating cause a lot of people think it cheating same with tracing art
@asmrsounds-Miriam14 күн бұрын
IMO... of course... When creating... art... or otherwise, there's no such thing as cheating! Simply, the methods you do or don't choose to utilize! You're free to choose. That's part of what makes it so interesting to me. Your work is unique to you. I've wasted too much time not producing. I hope to support anyone in doing just that! 🙂

Many people learn to draw in a variety of ways. Who hasn’t traced their hand? Children and adults learn how to process shapes instead of thinking of a preconceived idea also by tracing and then maybe take a drawing class or two. Tracing is not looked down upon in the art world just as making prints of one’s own art isn’t either. Surprisingly with practice and time one just uses a thumbnail or value/compositional study and then tracing goes away but in learning and also depending on the scale, many great masters used tracing like the Sistine Chapel- Michael Angelo, Leonardo di Vinci used a form of tracing by light up their drawings from behind and placing their marks and lines and many others have. Painting, drawing is learned, a learned skill that one, if they are good, it is because they show ambition to be good.
