Hey Randy can you make a video identifying types of vegetation and how important it is to identify each type and ways to approach each type or Characteristics that fish will hold to more than another type. Thanks

Many times I’ve had to run for cover, ( take cover in someone’s boathouse) especially if it’s a late spring early summer, as soon as the rains stop, game on!!! And not just bass. I’ve had great days on shellcracker, crappie, stripers! Almost spelled that strippers. 😱🙄

Right on. Same applies to pike and muskies, maybe even more so. Had one of my best pike days on a calm, cloudy day with showers and light winds. But I haven't done well in windy days, in general, probably due to lack of control.

For some reason drains are a good choice after a hard rain in Ky . The fish go to them like a magnate. Some guys say it’s current others say it’s worms and crayfish that wash into the lake. One place that I know is where two lakes are separated by a road with a under road culvert. After a good hard rain we go and set up on the down stream side and throw jerkbaits, flukes, worms and jigs and we can load the boat as long as the water is swift. After the flow goes back to normal things slow back down. It is so predictable that we watch the weather map put on the rain and head to the drains.👍😎❤️🎣

You know I've fished every spot like that, I've ever found, and never caught a bass one while there was an overflow, flooded creek coming into a lake, a waterfall going into lake. All sorts of instances. I have tried every kind of bait you can throw, some the book says not to throw. Now below a dam, or above a dam, when there making power or back pumping, yes sir buddy you best be fishing and catching hard lol. It's pandemonium while it lasts.

@@kevinflabouyfishing5739 yeah I know man. Phillpott lake is about 15 minutes out my back door. Here in sw Virginia. There is a reservoir called fairy stone that dumps into philpott up one of the creek's. In the back. It narrows down perfect. Can sit on one side of bank and cast across to other side. Then it opens up into a big bowl little past the 3 waterfalls that feed in. This dam is more less natural half way across. Anyway I've fished all around in that area, under adverse conditions. High water levels that make current flow hard. Or in summer time when water is 90 degrees, you would think all the oxygenated water would hold fish. I just haven't caught any. Idk. And I've also fished other places in similar instances. Like a tributary dumping into lake, that's text book type locations. I probably just ain't holding my mouth right. Or maybe I gotta have that new livescope thing 😆

Interesting… I love top water as much as anyone, but I’ve never had that much success on top in the rain.. Certain lures like poppers and prop baits seem totally worthless. Like they just disappear in all the commotion the rain is making. I have caught some monsters on big walking baits if it wasn’t too hard a rain however. Before and after the rain is a totally different story though. That’s when it can seem like every bass in the lake is looking up.

How would you fish and what baits would you fish with in a small lake that has thick hydrilla all along every bank 15' out. 4" to 6" from the surface? No holes and the hydrilla is to thick to punch through. I use a frog, weightless fluke, and a wacky worm on the edge of the hydrilla wall. Just wondering if there would be anything else

Where I live it’s been raining and cold we’ve been catching them on jigs and plastics but the fish usually bite in between the squalls and the captain kangaroo hail. I always say it takes a real dumbass to go out on days like that but no one else is dumb enough fish when the elements are that bad. It’s still way better than sitting on the couch counting your tampons.
