Fun fact: Music from Backdraft was used in the original airings of Iron Chef (Japan). Any version you see nowadays, though, has the soundtrack changed due to copyright

The thumbnail image to this video is nightmare inducing. Those characters sure look like they could be related to the McNugget Buddies characters from McDonald's.

Only the Lonely is a highly underrated comedy-drama that features my second favorite John Candy performance behind Planes, Trains & Automobiles. The film was written and directed by Chris Columbus, less than a year after the smash Home Alone, and John Hughes even produced it. (One of the few times he produced a script that was not his.) To further the Home Alone connection, Macaulay Culkin even has a small role in the film, as does his brother Kieran (aka "Fuller"). Unfortunately, lightning did not strike twice, and the movie was ignored, which is too bad, as it's a sweet film about a cop who is trying to start a relationship, while having to deal with an overbearing mother (the late, great Maureen O'hara) who does not approve of her son's relationship. Give it a watch if you've never seen it.

I'd give anything to go back now.

I remember "Omen IV The Awakening". I saw it when it first aired. Then ten years later I bought the VHS at a garage sale. I don't think I watched more then three times before donating it to GoodWill.

13:58 This Home Depot commercial was animated by C. Martin Croker (RIP), who you may know as the voice of Zorak and Moltar from Space Ghost Coast to Coast. He uploaded a copy to his KZbin channel which you can find with a search.

Backdraft-good movie.. also loved the Universal Stunt Spectacular show Thelma & Louise-in my head canon they had parachutes, and they're still out there driving 😁 Top Of The Heap-the spin-off Vinny And Bobby also featured Leslie Jordan, who can now be seen on Fox's Call Me Kat Only The Lonely-missed opportunity to use the song of the same name by The Motels in the film itself Omen IV The Awakening-shouldve stopped after The Final Conflict Confessions,Fantasies and Private Dreams 1 900 numbers-Children DON'T get your parent's permission before dialing, cause you'll be in a whole heap of trouble if you do

Re: Only The Lonely: The song that inspired the title was “Only The Lonely” by Roy Orbison, which is played in the opening scene.

Saw that these were kofy commercials, and I was like “there better be a dog promo” and sure enough, right at the end.

That Only the Lonely commercial sounded very, very similar to the theme to The Goonies.

It is the theme from the Goonies. This is mentioned in the video description.

Interesting marketing on Thelma and Louise. It's played up as a straight up action comedy.

A modern limited or ongoing series for The Omen could be awesome if it was handled properly. The original trilogy was a cool blend of political intrigue and supernatural horror.

So KOFY was still using dog mascots during their station IDs in the 90s! There's an infamous one around here where the dog falls off a table - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4u2mYCGqpx1p6M

All of the tapes my family had of KOFY were recorded in 89/90, so they were definitely still using them during this period, but they might have stopped by '92. It was definitely an interesting gimmick. I feel so bad for that little dog in the video you linked. It blew its big moment on TV.

The yorkie falling off the table is the best one.

The Diamond Center - Yeah, great idea, guilt the five-year-old demographic into buying their mother a diamond ring. And at 13:24, that guy does not seem comfortable...
