Kind of wild that the Hershey's Kisses handbell commercial is still airing to this day...

The very definition of a timeless commercial.

Smart of Hershey's to keep it going, a lot of these companies underestimate the power of tradition and nostalgia

Outside of Link to the Past, which 80sCommercialVault noted hit the following year, the Super Nintendo had one of the best first year lineups I can remember for a console. Final Fantasy II (IV in Japan), Actraiser, Gradius III, Super Mario World, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Pilotwings, F Zero, Super Castlevania IV…All hit in the first few months. Owned both a Genesis and SNES back then, and in my opinion, the real winners of the “Console War” were those who played both sides of it.

Little Caesar’s- With that much of a stretchy consistency, it would certainly make one wonder what Little Caesar’s puts in the cheese on their pizzas.

Seeing the ad for Meijer reminded me of an infamous 80sCV video with nearly everything being available at FRED MEYER (it was Vol. 727 from 2019) and Meijer pronounced Meyer was founded by one FREDERIK MEIJER! No joke and no relation. Same type of store premise though!

I was so excited to see Hook. Spielberg directing a Peter Pan film seemed so perfect. Went to see it opening weekend, and I was disappointed. Slow, talky, and we get to see so little of Neverland outside of the Lost Boys hideout and the pirate village, both of which looked like studio sets than far away worlds of fantasy. I know people hold nostalgia for it, but the movie is a disappointment for me. The only good things to come from it are John Williams’ music score and the video game that was put out for the Super Nintendo and Sega CD.

I do like the movie, but I was 7 when it came out so a lot of that is probably nostalgia talking. I do kind of wish that Spielberg had done a live action version of the original Peter Pan story as he originally intended instead of a sequel. The 2003 film sort of scratches that itch, but I'd imagine a version from Spielberg in his prime would far surpass it. I will say that the SNES game is one of my favorites.

USAir- I wish the song in this commercial was longer. It’s very relaxing and at the same time, upbeat to listen to.

Honey Bunches Of Oats- I’m willing to bet that every person on earth who was sent to the Grocery Store with a list has done what the family members do in this commercial, buying things that he/she likes that aren’t on the given list.
