Angela F. Williams is President and CEO of United Way Worldwide - the first Black woman to lead America’s United Way global network serving 1,100 communities in 37 countries and territories around the world. Under her leadership, United Way Worldwide has advocated for better policies and rehabilitated families facing food insecurity.
Under ‘adequate standard of living’, access to food is a human right but not a guarantee. Due to reasons such as poverty, gender bias, conflict and climate change, lack of food results in undernourishment, which hinders the development of the brain and body.
In this session, Angela Williams demonstrates how this issue affects the global community. At the intersection of food insecurity and opportunity, we are missing possibilities to have well-rounded and healthy leadership which is key to development, fighting climate change, social justice and so much more.
