Ok, one of THE best cars on KZbin, one of THE best cars ever made, one of THE sexiest cars ever made, and it’s American! The Grand National, the GNX, and the Regal T Type was one of GM’s pinnacle achievements. Mustang vs Grand National, back at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park was a staple of the early 90’s. Having owned 2 different GN’s in my day, one a totally stock daily driver and the other was a modified, low 10 sec weekend warrior. The true beauty of these cars that no one hardly ever mentions is that no matter how pumped up the car may be, when you accelerate normally, the car behaves as though it’s completely stock, smooth idle, smooth ride, super comfortable and quiet inside, cold a/c and an underrated wicked sounding Bose Concert Sound II stereo system! No real indication it’s pumped until you tromp on it at which time, ALL hell breaks loose!!! During the time I owned these cars in the mid/late 80’s, I lived in Ft. Lauderdale where the Hot Rod/Street racing scene was huge. I cannot tell you how many times I totally destroyed (typically by 8-10 car lengths) these dudes with tricked out rides with 75-100k in their cars, leaving them feeling quite dazed and confused. What a great time it was!
