I know the Justy is rusty but there is something refreshing about a quirky car that has never been loved in a shop full of high dollar collector cars.

Hey guys! I am the manufacturer of that shift linkage modification you have on the EF. I just wanted you guys to have a resource for it if you have any questions about it. As a Porsche guy who’s 6’5 and daily drives a 911 I’m loving the civic content. Really wish it was this easy for me to check compression on my engine. I’m a huge fan of the turbo builds and of course I prefer N.A. power when it’s available but I’d love to replicate a civic build and then fully race it on a track. You guys make great content and have built 2 distinguished personalities that are always entertaining to watch. It’s honestly better than a lot of my local US KZbinrs content.

Wow, I can't believe I actually owned all 3 of the cars you guys showed in this episode (down to same colors). I had the Justy and it was a great winter car while I had the EH Civic as my summer car. I had a black 00' Si coupe with zero rust. Rear quarters were mint. I had picked it up early into the pandemic for $1,800 and regrettably sold it a year later for $2,250. Ended up buying a 97' M3, so I don't dwell on the lost potential profit too much anymore 🥲
@TassieLorenzo11 ай бұрын
@@CrossWindsPat It's because -- for whatever reason -- Honda fans are still hung up on the EF, EG and EK (and sedan/coupe equivalents) while the ES, EM & EU (seventh-gen) are *really* unloved. In the EP3 & DC5 people are willing to put up with the suspension design that is not great, but the ordinary 7th-gens seem very unpopular. So there is a lot of demand for the classic double wishbone EF, EGs and EKs and given their age they are rare (and more and more get scrapped, every car in the junkyard means one more out of circulation). The natural progression in terms of the age of the cars would be for Honda fans to move onto the 7th-gens, but 7th-gens are desperately unpopular for the most part. I have to say from first hand experience, I think the suspension geometry in the DC5 is awful. An EG handles so much better, while an 8th-gen (while heavier) is also much more predictable and confidence-inspiring than a 7th-gen IMO. **awaits angry 7th-gen enthusiasts who love the 7th-gen cars**

@@TassieLorenzo "for whatever reason" can you not understand why a car that can easily weigh less than 2000lbs with double wishbone and EZ mode K swap is appealing?

Fellas there are so many more layers to the rust nightmare that is 90s Honda. The fender rubbers are the east of your concerns. As someone who’s done inner and outer quarters on my DC2 Integra, they rust from the inside out. They rust under the factory undercoating. Like a dissolving car. And this is on a Calgary car with 215,000 Km. Love this series can’t wait to see what you guys do with these.

@TassieLorenzo11 ай бұрын
Won't the B18C have no hope against the EG, if the EG is turbo B18 with 250whp? It kind of has to be a K24 to have a chance. I love Honda and it's nice to see essentially the same car against itself, but it would have been fun for the second car to be something else -- be it a Subaru, Daihatsu, Suzuki, or even Dodge Omni or Mk2 or Mk3 VW Golf. But I guess the principle of sticking to what you know applies.

yeah these had holes in the floor as large as the gas tank by the mid 2000's in Canada. Arizona is a car museum holy crap. What i've done with b18's and d series with bad compresion is pour brake cleaner down the plug hole, then dump some fresh oil, rotate engine by hand, drain oil and refilll, then test compression again. often times it's just the oil rings being clogged from many years of running a clogged air filter and bad oil. Especially when number 1 is the best and number 4 is the worst. The oil pump is working fine, but there is sludge everywhere.
