I’ve made all those mistakes. It’s so frustrating not to mention expensive. What is your advice for pouring on wood? I’ve swiped off the bad pours and sanded down 3 times. Primed again and swiped off twice. The last one I did last night, the paint was too thin. I walked away swearing never to attempt again.

Sorry you feel frustrated! Have you tried measuring your paint consistency with my paint consistency indicator sheet? Download it for free and give it a try to see if that helps you get the perfect paint consistency. loveacrylicpainting.com/free-consistency-indicator-download/ FYI… I do most of my pours using paint mixes that have a 2-4 paint consistency. About pouring on wood… what you are doing is what I would do for wood pouring. But pouring on wood and sanding it down if you don’t like it is a lot of work. I would suggest pouring on ceramic tiles because those are super easy to reuse if you mess up. Just let the paint dry and then soak them in hot water, and peel off the paint.

I got a result that resembles flashlight all over the canvas. The beautiful pattern broke up and divided in the drying process 😢 Was it too much paint or was the paint too thick? I don’t understand it properly tbh

Those are actually tile pieces that look like wood. My husband does tile work and sometimes he has leftover pieces so I use them for my art. I just realized that in one part of the video I said "canvas" so I might have confused some people about what I was using... sorry!

The thicker the paint is, the more that some colors will get buried underneath other colors.

I think the most comum mistake its getting the the right consistncy of the acrylics and not the quantity....if u know the right recipe u just do loads of paint if u get some spare do another painting 😊

Yes! That is true. Consistency is almost always the problem… paint is either too thick, too thin, or all your paints have different consistencies so they all move at different rates. But some people also put very little amount of paint on their canvas so then they end up overstretching their paint. It’s better to add a lot and tilt some of it off than add too little. And like you said, just mix a lot of paint if you are unsure how much you’ll need and you can use any remaining paint mix in another painting! 😃
