I don’t worry about the exhaust, PDK and right colour are more important for me. I don’t bother with chrono either unless it already had it. Same for PASM

On my list for when I get one is PSE, heated seats and a sports steering wheel (PDK), anything else is a bonus in my eyes. Not fussed about PASM either due to the price of replacing the mounts If I was to get a manual, I would like chrono for the blips mind Colour and wheels are obvs the first thing everyone sees. I do like alcantara I must admit but normally only see it on GTS models

Good options to look out for, but as you mentioned, colour and wheels are seen first, then I would prioritise history/condition cosmetically/mechanically. Options do play a part in value and experience too of course, but less so then the other factors in my opinion. I do obviously like finding highly specced Porsche to sell though! Cheers, Raj

I’m not into Porsche options / models snobbery (air cool/water cool or flat six/flat four dichotomy) just buy the Porsche you can afford, driven and not hidden in a garage. Those who go for option list tend to misconstrue their acquisition as an investment so they need all the buttons for a possible resale, for me as long as it has a BoxEngine I will drive the hell out of that flat engine. The car you featured Raj is a good sample.

Thanks MrRoyck10, the options do add a few % to value and also the experience, but you are right, any Porsche is going to be fantastic to own/drive regardless. I do focus much more on history/provenance and current condition. All the best, Raj

I have the sports exhaust on my Cayman 981S, and it was a must. However, since owning it 90% of the time its off 😂😂 Its sounds epic off as well as on.

Raj, what RPM do you have to get it to pop when downshifting? I have a non-use 991.1 S and cannot to get it to crack and pop during downshifting. By the Way, I love your channel. Very informative, and I appreciate your attention to detail with the cars that you display.

Is the PSE quieter in valve closed mode? Laguna Seca has low decibel limits

The PSE is the same as this exhaust in quiet mode I believe, it may vary slightly from car to car at this age now! Cheers, Raj

had a 981s without pse, now a 991.1s with pse, i would say its a must, even i turn it off most of the time, but when you want to have some fun, its more exciting

Thanks Lee, yes it is possible, cost is around £1,800-2,000 or so with programming. It does add more sound, but the standard setup is also decent. It makes a bigger difference on the 981 Cayman and Boxster models. Cheers, Raj
