@@crazeguy26 More like one glass dropped every few minutes. Glasses are cheap when you look at the big picture and everyone had to start somewhere. I'm sure it is fun for the headmaster and it really drives mistakes home when the students experience the glass break. Don't forget, the butler who had to sweep the glass during the session...it taught them how to gracefully handle accidents at an event with as little disruption as possible.

I love how the teachers are strict, but not in a way that's scary. I'd expect them to yell at the students if they dropped glasses or let the book fall of their head. Or aggressively confront them and make them feel ashemed. But instead, they just politely told them that she was costing him many glasses and that too many books were falling. No one had to feel ashamed. They're just learning and having a good time doing so.

Absolutely, I despise scary strict authority figures, it does not make one respect you, it makes one despise you. You can be strict, that is fine, however, it is how you approach being strict. You have to approach it with an underlying of warmth and politeness for it to be most effective, in my opinion.

I've served as a waitress for 11 years, and a lot of this is pretty accurate to how training can go in different restaurants. Things like this make me so proud of my career, especially considering the absolute *nightmare* it can be. "we cannot be considered human anymore" is such a thing. I'm not a human, I'm a product that people pay to see and to help enjoy their evening.

While this sort of program is on the more extreme end, this proves that anything within hospitality is not as easy as it seems. We can go to a restaurant, stay at a hotel, attend a tour, visit a spa -- but as a consumer, you don't realize how much effort and detail goes into your visit/stay. Michelle, thank you for showing this side of hospitality to everyone! And if I could give any advice to anyone reading this, please treat your hospitality staff and locations with care and kindness!

​@Mary Wood completely agree! I do the same. I never leave a mess in a hotel room! I worked in the service industry for quite a few years (as cabin crew for a major UK airline). Their standards were extremely high and I learned so much, including a greater respect for others in the service industry as well as expecting a certain standard from others. Once you learn how to do things well, you notice it more when things are done badly 😉

What sucked was when customers took their personal issues out on us, creeped on us, or seriously trashed the place. Once a man came into our store and fired off dozens of questions and demands in a tone like we were all beneath him-- then after paying, threw his handful of loose change into the *half-full mug of tea* I was drinking from, instead of the tip jar. Didn't even notice.

I think I can make a perfectly fine judge of the effort put into an experience. This idea that all hospitality workers or servers are giving 100% is ridiculous. Unless you dining in a high class restaurant, genuine service is next to non existent in most other restaurants. One of two things. Either it's all for camera (which I doubt). The other is butlers are strict. I'm assuming he's a butler or was one and acting like one. Like he kept saying, you got to smile and not make people uncomfortable no matter who they are. From the video, he was very strict. Measured everything and watched your every move for flaws.

I love this video. I can relate totally to it. My grandfather was a professional waiter in New York City after migrating from Italy. He works very high end for the elite, and also went on the trains from New York to Florida, and serve the movie stars of the generation .And Butler’s in a high end servers are very underappreciated service. I really like how he explained why the knife was placed that way. I think sometimes we do things the simpler way because we think its easy. But well, it may be easy to set up but practically, when u are using them, they may not work as nicely or as easily. I think this applies to design principle as well. Product designers and UI/UX designers need to understand the way people behave to make a product that is easy to use. Not only that, but this also reminded me of my experience as an ADHDer. I feel like i am my own butler in the way that i arrange my room and belongings. They may not make sense to other people, but in my day to day life, i can feel how the arrangement makes it easier for me to function

Personally, I think it does make sense a programmer is doing this type of work. To be a great programmer you need to highly skilled at what you, attention to detail is paramount as a simple error would mean your code will not work.

Yeah I once was peacefully trying to leave high school to go home then one of the staff asked me to give some younger students advice about a math competition as I was there the previous year but I am an introvert and I don't like too much attention I was not prepared at all and I had no idea what to say All the students were boys and there were at least three teachers I know It was in covid and they asked me to take off my mask but I was so used to it that I was self aware of my face It was in ; tiny room full of strangers and they were paying so much attention because they genuinely wanted to know about the competition And when I started this one teacher interrupted me and said that I didn't even greet them and started talking about the topic It was so awkward but I think it was better that I feared lol

She feels the difference grapping the knife and what's the different for the guest. The first lesson with the circle walking was honestly awesome, that’s such a great way to teach them, it’s a game and a lesson at the same time and he teaches so happily and has a lot of passion in the lesson, that would be an incredibly fun class to attend, he doesn’t bully the students for mistakes he just makes small jokes and gives genuine instructions and advice. No wonder he’s the headmaster! lol

If the bread plate, drinks or saucer is too far to one direction, guests don't know if it's for them or the person next to them. Also, when people don't put things on the right place, it gets harder and harder to fit everything onto the table. If things are out of place it also distracting to the people sitting at the table. There is a ton of stuff there and it could be a mess but from their perspective, it looks clean.

I spent a lot of this video wondering how much this class of butler gets paid. The extent to which they're willing to put their employer's interests above themselves is undoubtedly undervalued, but by how much.
