Happy 40th bro! Maniac kittens rule. Repurposing is a genius art. Undercoating and seam sealing always makes me nervous because of potential moisture trapping. I prefer just good paint so you can always check on it, but I know you'll do it right. Love metal forming / shaping... Makes me think of John Kelly who contributed a lot to the 914 forums.

I don't know if someone gave you a hard time for sourcing items from let's say unconventional places but.. A local had a fab / pro-touring / restoration business and was involved in the build of a Chevy II named II Much fabrication which sold at Barret Jackson. On his own 69 Camaro build, he used a wheel barrow tub for part of the firewall to fit the engine set back. Of course there is execution and knowing the quality of material but it happens all the time and has for the history of hot rodding and racing. I like your execution and Good work as always.

That my friend is overkill! But it's not like you're going to have a lack of horsepower to make up for it! There's a shop in PA called Translog. Years ago the owner Tony Miller did a 914 where he went whole hog stiffening the chassis without tubing or a roll cage. Very weigh efficient stiffening and it looked beautiful to boot. I don't know if there's any cataloguing of that car anywhere on line but search around, you may find something. Tony is a master fabricator with a lot of super off the wall P car builds.

I love the overkill aspect of this build. Beginning with a v8 ferrari engine, how do you not follow up with more. I love the pedals in this car as well. I recommend checking out the whole video for Radial Engine Nitrous Porsche 356 Outlaw on Outlaw Garage's channel. The pedals in that car are insane as shown starting at 9:20 in that video. And no, I don't have a feet thing... I just like cool cars with cool pedals.

What are you doing to protect the metal where you have stacked up multiple layers? I didn't notice any paint under the pedal mounting plate, for example.

Hi Dave - The floor and the underside of the plate were primed prior to welding - as was the underside of the floor and the inside of the support component.

Maybe the work light frequency does not match the video frame rate?

It's weird. It did it that one time only. Same light used in other scenes and it worked fine. As I say: "It's always something!"
