91Tech They did change a lot with the iPhone 7. We got stereo speakers, water resistance, ois on the 4.7” size, better tactic engine, dual camera (plus model), portrait mode (plus version) & the design did change. As for the iPhone X, I wouldn’t really call a bezelless screen innovation, it’s cool but it’s only vanity. The iPhone X should really be considered as the iPhone 8 deluxe (the fancy iPhone 8) but the iPhone 8 still did change a lot from the 7, wireless charging, True Tone Display, etc. But that’s just my opinion

When it comes to the 5C, you have to keep in mind that this was when smartphones were becoming extremely desirable and mainstream for younger people, and at the time, iPhones were pretty expensive. The 5C was an entrypoint into the Apple ecosystem, for a substantially lower price than their other phones at the time. It was a good move, and being made of plastic, while not feeling as good in the hand, you must admit is more durable in the hands of a 10-15 year old who had just gotten their first phone. I have always been an Android guy, but a majority of the people I knew at the time that got an iPhone, got a 5C because of it's price, and of course, being on their parents cellular plan.

I bought a 64GB one back in 2013. I used it till 2015 then upgraded to a 6s Plus. My wife used the iPhone 5 for another 2 years before she got an SE upgrade, and the iPhone 5 went to her relatives in Russia. It’s still working, having received a brand new battery before it was sent to Russia, in 2017.

iPhone 3G for sure. iPhone OS 2 was almost unusable on launch and the back plastic often suffered from cracking. As someone that worked at Apple for a few years starting in 2008, the iPhone 3G was frustrating to give tech support for because even fresh OS installs were slow. In rare instances where the customer’s phone had enough problems that we were given the pass to provide them with a 3GS replacement, I was always so happy for the customer.

When you upgraded it to the last version of iOS that it supported, it is worse than iPhone 2g on its last version, even the iPhone 4S on iOS 9.3.5. The last “good” version of iOS for it is either iPhoneOS 3.1.3 or iOS 4.1, if you can deal with a kinda slow phone

The last iPhone Steve Jobs saw was the 4s and the best phones are the 5s, se, and 6s which were all created after Jobs. Apples net worth also increased. I do believe Jobs was more stern on the company then Tim Cook (not sure if that’s good or bad) and he also save the company back in the 90s. I can’t say that Apple went down after Jobs but the iPhone 4 series was created during his reign and it was not the best. He himself said there would be problems and setbacks “but we will fix them.”

iPhone was great until Steve Jobs died. Nowadays Apple is just claiming to create brand new innovations like curved screens even though curved screens have been out since the Samsung S4. Apple just exploits planned obsolescence too much and now hardcore fans like I used to be are noticing. Android is the one innovating, creating foldable phones, and patenting cameras under the glass to allow for a true phone with a 100% screen to body ratio without a notch. They also are saying "An all new Amoled Display" when Android has been using them since around 2014 with the Nexus. To be honest Apple is just milking its hardcore fans more and more as more and more figure out they are only out for the money. Huawei is now outselling apple, Samsung has been outselling apple for decades, lesser known companies like OnePlus and Xiaomi are being wider and wider known. By 2023, society will begin to hate apple as a majority and not a minority. Overall, I just believe Apple phones are no longer worth their price when Phones like the Pocophone F1 are amazing and is only 300 dollars globally. I used to own an iPhone 7 but traded it in for a S9 as they were both 0 dollars with my plan and it is the best decision I have ever made, I have since learned so many new features like Split screen, developer options and APK's along with Launchers allowing me to create a truly unique device. I love Android and nothing can change my mind.

And I will agree with you apple is iconic but their change with the XS, XS Max, and XR is for the worse. The iPhone XR is 749.99 LCD, and the "Liquid Retina" is only 840p compared to the normal 720p LCD, which is still far worse than the 675 dollar S8 which features Amoled, the "innovative" curved screen and design with no bezel though SAMSUNG has been using these for a long time, Apple doubled their processing speed, which is amazing, and my friends who use Apple ( and I don't try to convince them out of it because they always Jailbreak their phone, which gives it more customization and development options and access to IPA's, kind of like Android ), anyways, Apple's processors are still 5% slower than the QualComm Snapdragon 845 which most Android devices use nowadays. And are trying to make an excuse for only 1 camera, they are trying to use their creative names to blast the "innovation" into peoples mind, trying to use 1 less camera as a selling point?! You have to be kidding me. The notch is also slightly bigger, but they use a image with space and no stars with planets in the background so you cannot see the notch, that makes it seem like they are using a notchless design but it's simply misleading. And they are claiming to use "The most durable glass on a smartphone" when they don't actually use Sapphire-Gorilla Glass, which is actually stronger than the glass they are using, Apple claims that their glass is stronger because it lasts longer underwater which is not an accurate representation of glass strength. It bothers me when Apple brags about using their "Revolutionary new tech with their depth of field, that allows you to customize portrait mode much better" ( Which is pretty good, I still kind of like apple ), but it's by no means revolutionary; android phones have been doing this for years now. Dual-Sim has been out with Android for so long, and Apple is only doing it now. Nothing seems to be changing when it comes to Apple. For example, the S8 costs 370-ish dollars per unit to manufacture ( which is a lot when it comes to the smartphone industry ) and they are selling it for around 720, and the iPhone X costs 400 dollars to manufacture for a 1000 dollar phone, which is pretty reasonable. But they XR, XS, and XS Max are all being manufactured for around 310 - 395 dollars per unit for a 750 dollar device; not to mention that the XS Max can get up to 1500 dollars, more than Double the S8. Now I'm not saying Android has a couple flaws; for example the Note 9 was always too expensive for my liking, but not to the ridiculousness that Apple takes it to. Now I know that expensive phones are becoming common, but the fact that Apple is constantly jacking up the prices just makes me feel like they are exploiting hardcore fans that are trying to defend apple, ignoring their flaws completely; Apple's most loyal fans are the ones being treated the worst. And I just feel that Android is superior, but I like your work ethic and understandability.

iPhone 7plus would be the best but it doesn’t have a headphone jack and that’s it’s only issue. It has a big screen, looks really pretty as a design, has portrait and some other things in camera app.

Im honestly not a huge fan of the Taptic home button, so that’s a negative for me. Other problems include -headphone jack loss -no space grey (my favorite) My favorites are -iPhone 6s -iPhone 5s -iPhone X (still miss the headphone jack but the all-screen design is really nice).

Never said it was a dealbreaker, just a huge annoyance. Consumers use their home buttons all the time, and as something interacted with as much as the home button, getting rid of the actual ‘button’ is a very legitimate reason not to like a phone. Again, it’s not my only reason either, just an annoyance.

I remember when I worked at best buy, I would get so many 5C returns for defects. This woman came in because she couldn't shut her phone off and it was stuck on vibrate and people on the bus were staring at her funny because they could hear a vibrating sound non stop coming from her purse. This will most likely be my last iPhone as I am as of right now on a iPhone SE. I’ve had it for three years and it’s been great didn’t start to slow down till now. I use wireless head phones so Started to crack the screen because I had no cord to catch it 😅... so it’s messed up in the front. I’m looking for a phone with a good camera rather then what I can do with the phone. So I might get a android I ain’t spending 1,300 on a 11 just for the Cam so I might go with the Samsung A50 or 70 as it’s a 25meg as the Apple only has 12...
