The clutch only goes in one way. On most kits says flywheel side and pressure plate side.

Hi, my clutch is engaging progressibly low when using it lets say to park and after some poiont its not doing anything unless you pump it couple times. My question is, should i replace the master cylinder underneath the car or the one behind the pedal? Thank you man
@jspeedracing3 жыл бұрын
try the one under the car. It is called the slave cylinder. The master is the one in the engine bay/pedal area.

Question for the folks that have recently owned one of these cars or earlier as a daily, what is your experience with them? I recently came across a 1989 3 series wagon that looks beautiful but have always heard about reliability issues, costly maintenance and them generally just being a pain to work on. Has this been the case for you? I do perform all the work on my own vehicles so keep that in mind. Only way it goes to a shop is if the job is something that requires expensive specialty tools I don't have or something like that.

biggboysouth Good question man. I have bought 5 E36’s and have had extremely good luck with them. To me, they are very simple. This whole “German engineering” thing I don’t quite grasp it. If I could only own one project car it would be an E36. Parts are dirt cheap and easy to work on. The motors hold up very well too. They are getting more difficult to find super cheap these days. I think a 89 is an e30 but not sure. Might be another country thing. Feel free to hit me up with anymore questions. If you need some Condor bushing let me know, I might be able to get you a discount

@@jspeedracing Thanks for the fast reply and I'm in the States (Florida). Yeah you are right it's an E30, I'm new to euro cars. I've been into muscle cars my whole life but lately I've been trying to experience other car scenes. Currently exploring JDM with my 97 Miata. Love driving it but for a daily it's small and I could really benefit from having a car with more room to pick up larger items. Been eyeing early 80s corolla wagons and then came across that BMW I mentioned. A fun to drive wagon sounds like a perfect daily. But that's awesome to know from your experience it's user friendly to work on and cheap to maintain. That's the main reason I never looked at them more seriously due to fear of being stuck with a car that would be difficult to maintain.

i have a quick question about the E36 clutch. My car won't go into reverse when it is on, but when the car is off it slips into reverse no problem. And its hard to get it in and out of gears 1-5 when the car is running. I think its a clutch issue, but do you have any other ideas as to what it could be?
